Alive to God

Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day and Your Word. Holy Spirit may you bring understanding as we read and meditate on today's Word In the name of Jesus Christ

Today's lead Word is coming from Romans 6:8-11

8."Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live [together] with Him,

9.because we know [the self-evident truth] that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him.

10.For the death that He died, He died to sin [ending its power and paying the sinner's debt] once and for all; and the life that He lives, He lives to [glorify] God [in unbroken fellowship with Him].

11.Even so, consider yourselves to be dead to sin [and your relationship to it broken], but alive to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus. AMEN

The above Word states the goodness of God's grace for all believers who have taken the confession of the faith of Jesus Christ and have been water baptized.

As a believer, after you are water baptized, your old self has been buried and now you are raised with Jesus Christ when you come out of the water and now the resurrection power of Christ lives in you because of our faith that we died with Christ and also live together with Him as seen above in Romans 6:8. Romans 6:4 also tells us, "We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walking habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways]."

When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, the Holy spirit immediately comes into your life, and through the grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ, everything is immediately made new, God forgives your sins and remembers them no more. Colossians 3:3 says, "For you died and your life is now hidden with Christ in God." As believers in Christ, we have a covering and since we are hidden in Jesus Christ, God, never condemns us, He no longer sees our mistakes because all He sees is Jesus Christ who is always praying for us (Romans 8:34). Romans 8:31-32 tells us and I encourage you to meditate on it and imprint it on your heart; "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"

Most importantly, as a believer, the Holy Spirit starts to live in you and gives you the grace and the ability to no longer sin. This grace that has been given to us as Scripture says is not by power, it is not by might but by my Spirit says the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6). In case, you are wondering, the Holy Spirit is our Helper that Jesus Christ left us with after leaving the earth. Jesus Christ in John 14:15-18 introduces the ministry of the Holy Spirit to us and says,

15.If you love Me, keep My commandments.

16."And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever -

17."the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

18."I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."

Sometimes you may say, I want to stop this habit and I do not know how to because I keep trying and it never happens. My first question to you is have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour and have been water baptized by a Pastor as well? Before I came to Christ, I used to drink alcohol and wanted to stop so bad but somehow I was never able to completely stop drinking by myself. I tried all these rules in an attempt to make me stop but still continued drinking. When I became a born again believer, and accepted Christ into my life, I started to detest the taste of alcohol, I was not sure what it was at the beginning but now I know it was the power of God that we now have access to because we are in Christ Jesus as seen above in Romans 6:11. That is, because of Jesus Christ, we are now alive to God and dead to sin. Glory to God.

In case you are reading this and you are not yet a believer but you want to know this God who takes away your sins, and makes you new and gives you the power to live a new and holy life, dead to sin and alive to God, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I choose Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith and would like to get water baptised. I encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! If you would like a physical copy of the Bible, send us an email at info@bibleversionoflife.com with your address. GOD BLESS.
