Holy Spirit, we thank you that You are here in this place and with each person wherever they maybe reading this blog in the name of Jesus. Thank you LORD that You are speaking to Your sons and daughters as they read and reflect on Your Word shared in this post in the name of Jesus. May You as always, continue to share revelation, knowledge and understanding into the plans and purposes that You have for all of Your children in the name of Jesus.
Genesis chapter 1 is one of the most important chapters in the Bible if not the most important chapter in the Bible. One cannot fully exhaust the revelation and knowledge of God revealed in this chapter. However, by God's grace, i'll share some of the revelation the LORD has put on my heart.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."(Genesis 1:1 NKJV).
This verse shows us that there is nothing in this world that was not created by God. Literally nothing! John 1:3 AMPC re affirms this and says, "All things were made and come into existence through Him; and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being."
God is the origin and master of all creation. As the master of all creation, He has shared His creative nature with man. That is, man has the ability and blessing of creating inventions and technology.
As we read along, we see the Spirit of God hovering over the face of the earth that was dark and without form (Genesis 1:2). "Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were first day." (Genesis 1:3-5 NKJV).
Often times, they are people who wonder if God truly exists and if He is real. Anyone with that question may be happy to find the answer in the beauty that God created between day and night; light and darkness that speaks for itself.
From these Scriptures, we also see that the Words that were spoken by God are life in themselves. That is, when God speaks, it is. His Word is sent out with the creative power and authority that makes everything in the earth to yield to the manifestation of His Word.
When we look at the rest of the verses in Genesis 1:6-25, we see that before anything come into being, be it the grass, herbs and fruit trees (Genesis 1:11 NKJV); the living creatures created in the waters, the birds flying in the air (Genesis 1:20 NKJV); and the cattle, every creeping thing and its kind (Genesis 1:25 NKJV), this all come into being when God spoke a Word. This portrays the undeniable power found in the Word of God.
John 1:1 NKJV reminds us, "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God." As much as the words we speak have power, I want you to imagine how much more power and authority is contained in the Word of God. John 1:1 above literally tells us that the word of God found in our Bibles is God and when we activate it by speaking it into any situation (be it an emotional, health, relational challenge, etc) in our lives, the power of God working in you to change that situation is released.
The LORD through the prophet Isaiah 55:11 tells us, "So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it." Friend, God's Word accomplished its purpose when God spoke it into existence ages ago when He formed the world and that same power and authority found in the Word of God is still available for every son and daughter of God who will speak using His Word today.
In case you are wondering, how did God share the power and authority of His creative nature?
The answer is found in Genesis 1:26 NKJV that reads, "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
The "Us and "Our" that God is referencing in this verse is God, the Father. God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit in whose godly image you and I were created in.
Jesus Christ, the son of God when He came to earth, born fully human and yet fully God in His likeness and nature patterned for us what it means to live in this world as people who are created in the image of God.
In John 14:6 NKJV, "Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." This verse firstly tells us that there is one way to experiencing the fullness of the life that God has for you. This is through becoming a new creation by receiving and accepting Jesus Christ, as His One and Only Son as Lord and Saviour of your life.
In case, you have not yet done this, I join my faith with yours as you pray the prayer found at the bottom of this post titled "Invitation to salvation."
As a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17), you will not only have the creative nature and ability that emnates from being a child of God but you will also have the authority and dominion to dominate over all the things in this earth and over every area of your life.
Without the salvation obtained through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they cannot be dominion and authority. This is because dominion in this earth was stripped away from man by satan when Adam and Eve listened to him which caused them to disobey God thereby introducing sin into the world. Sin separated man from God taking away from man's identity that was created in the image of God.
We'll explore this in detail in Genesis chapter 3 by the grace of God.
As I conclude today's segment, the most important thing to remember for our purposes is Jesus Christ was the full and complete redemptive plan of God revealed to man to reconcile him to His original purpose and oneness with God found in the fullness of who God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit created man to be which was in His likeness - not only to create, invent but to also have dominion over all things in the earth as seen above in Genesis 1:26.
TO BE CONTINUED...
I'll end with this Word in Romans 5:17 NKJV
"For if by one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ."
AMEN. THANK YOU LORD.
Invitation to salvation: On that note, if you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal and everlasting life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus - I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
