Grow in personal relationship

Praise the LORD! Abba Father, we thank you that this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. We invite Holy Spirit, may You speak to us, give us understanding and reveal all that You have for us in Christ in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today's Word is from Jeremiah 15:1 NKJV and it reads,

"Then the LORD said to me, "Even if Moses and Samuel stood before Me, My mind would not be favorable towward this people. Cast them out of My sight, and let them go forth."

Just to provide some background, God's people had rebelled against Him by not listening to His instructions and worshipping other gods. So the LORD spoke these words through His prophet Jeremiah and I found it interesting the LORD said that He would not be favorable towards His people despite Moses and Samuel asking Him to in prayer. When I was reading this initially, I thought to myself, wow the LORD must have really loved Moses and Samuel. As we read about them in the Old Testament, we can tell that these people indeed had a special, deep and personal relationship with the LORD God. For example, in Exodus 33:11, we see that the LORD spoke to Moses face to face like a man would speak with a friend.

Today, the GREAT news is we have an even closer, special, deeper and more personal relationship with the LORD God compared to Moses and Samuel. The reason for this is through Jesus Christ, who was sent to die for the sins of the entire world and whoever, believes in Him is saved (John 3:15-16) and gets a new nature which brings them into personal relationship with God meaning their old sinful way of life is no longer existent before the eyes of God (2 Corinthians 5:17-19).

When you give your life to Christ, you are considered a child of God, where you can now call Him Father (Romans 8:15). Now, Moses and Samuel never had a chance to call the LORD Father but me and you have that privilege because we are born again! - Hallelujah.

In Matthew 7:7-11, Jesus remind us how deeply loved we are to the Father as God's children. He says,"Ask, and it shall be given to you' seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"

While Jesus was on the earth, He said, "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." (Matthew 11:11). The 'he' (or she) who is in the Kingdom of heaven is every one who has believed with their heart and confessed with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9). This shows us that salvation in Christ Jesus spiritually gives you a hierarchy greater than John the Baptist.

On that note, child of God, may this be the year where you grow in your personal relationship with your heavenly Father. I pray that this year is where you tap into all the good treasures that the Father has for you and every blessing you are entitled to in Christ Jesus as His child In the name of Jesus. Amen. All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has given us every spiritual blessings in the heavenly places because we are united with Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). In case you are wondering, the best way to grow in personal relationship with God, the Father is by intentionally setting aside time to read your Bible. This is because the word of God is God (John 1:1).

I'll end with this prayer that Paul prayed for us as a body of Christ in Ephesians 1:17-23 NLT

"I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called - his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe Him.

This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.

Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else - not only in this world but also in the world to come.

God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.

And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself."

AMEN. Thank you Father. May this Word give birth to a bountiful harvest in our lives In the name of Jesus. May Your will be done on earth for the church, your sons and daughters as it is in heaven In the name of Jesus. Glory to God. Amen.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know the LORD God who from the beginning of creation has always desired to grow in personal relationship with you by saving you from sin, dwelling on the inside of you, to provide wisdom, knowledge, light and be included in the blessings of Christ Jesus as His son and daughter with Him as your loving Father - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. Feel free to reach out to us on info@bibleversionoflife.com. We would love to hear your story! God bless you.
