Abba Father, we thank you for the blessing of a new day. We thank you for Your mercies that are new every morning concerning our lives and even more, we thank you for the precious gift of Christ. We worship you Ancient of days and say may Your name be magnified in the body of Christ and in all ends of the earth in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 54:10 (NKJV)
"For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but My kindness shall not depart from you, nor shall My covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
Amen, thank you LORD.
Isaiah chapter 54 is a beautiful Word with many promises for God's people and it comes right after the prophecy and revelation of Christ shared by the Spirit of the LORD through the prophet Isaiah in chapter 53.
In previous chapters, God's warning was for His people to be separate from the idol worship of the ungodliness around them while re assuring them of His sovereign power and salvation concerning the oppression and affliction they faced from their enemies.
However, with the revelation of Christ in Isaiah chapter 53, the prophecy in the book of Isaiah now takes a shift all the way to the end. "And where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty". (2 Corinthians 3:17).
One of the biggest shifts we observe is the LORD's kindness and mercy expressed to His people through a covenant of peace. The LORD re assures His people that His covenant of peace shall not be removed from their lives. (Isaiah 54:10).
To fully appreciate the meaning of this phrase, I would encourage us to look up the meaning of covenant. From a plain understanding of the word covenant, it is usually a formal agreement between people to achieve a certain objective or purpose. In most cases, just like formal agreements, for all intents and purposes, covenants are meant to be kept by the people who agree to make them. They are not meant to be broken. For instance, salvation is a covenant between God and His children. This covenant is so serious that Jesus' promises to keep you safe as the Chief Shepherd and Overseer of your soul to in order to present you to the Father (1 Peter 2:25). Jesus as our Shepherd will leave the ninety nine to go and get that one lost sheep and bring it back to the sheepfold (Luke 15:4) because the covenant must be kept. Marriage is a covenant as well and we see that the marriage between man and woman mirrors the marriage between Christ who is the head of the church and the body which is the chuch. This is another covenant which cannot be broken where Christ again presents us, the church, to the Father without spot or blemish by cleansing and washing us with the water of God's Word (Ephesians 5:23-32). Isaiah 54:5 also adds to this and reiterates, "For Your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth."
I share the above with you that in the world, agreements may sometimes be undervalued but in God's eyes, a covenant means everything to Him and the LORD God will always honor and keep His covenants. Today, the LORD God is reminding His people that His covenant of peace will not be removed concerning you. Just like joy, the peace of the LORD is not dependent on your physical circumstances which may be susceptible to events happening around you. The covenant of peace that God provides transcends world events and is timeless, certain and it lasts forever because it is dependent on Him. Friend, this peace is only found in a person and His name is Jesus, our Maker and husband, the LORD of Hosts and the Redeemer of the Holy One of Israel.
In case you are already in Christ and have Him as your Lord and Saviour, may this be a reminder and a source of hope that God's covenant of peace concerning you will not be broken. Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV) reminds us of the LORD's promise of perfect peace - "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You because He trusts in You."
Prayer: Thank you Father, the God of the whole earth and the LORD Jesus that in Your kindness and mercy, You will keep us and our descendants in Your covenant of perfect peace all the days of our long healthy lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.
I'll end with the LORD's promise found in 2 Timothy 2:13 (NKJV)
"If we are faithless He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."
AMEN, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: And if you would like to be included in God's covenant of peace that cannot be broken concerning your life, Please say this prayer below;

I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
