Persistence and determination
Praise be be to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for this gift of a new day. The Word that's been on my heart to share this morning concerns spiritual persistence and determination. Often times, they are dreams that you may given up on, either because it took too long to come or you got a few discouraging events happening along the way which made you put the dream or vision that you once had in your heart on hold. They may also be promises that God has revealed to you and you've held onto but they have not yet come to fruition.
In 1 Corinthians 9:24, Apostle Paul tells us, "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it." This may be a sports analogy but the principle of running the race and receiving the price also applies to spiritual persistence and determination especially our faith and in the place of prayer. The enemy does not desire you win the race and this is the reason these discouraging things may show up but our Abba Father desires that you not only run the race but that you also win the race! Hebrews 11:6, But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him."
When you give up on those dreams that God has put on our hearts or the promises that He has guaranteed to you like healing, believing for a breakthrough, saving your marriage, working two jobs for your kids education, believing for a loved one's salvation, the list is endless, you are not giving up on these dreams and promises, rather you are giving on God and his ability to show his faithfulness concerning you, and His love for you in that particular area in of your life.
One of God's sure traits is His faithfulness which is true and never changes. "God is not a man that He should lie nor a son of man that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?" (Number 23:19). Friend, lift up your faith and stir up those dreams, hopes and promises that God put on your heart by persisting in the place of prayer and also taking the proactive steps that align with these promises. In James 2:17, the. Bible tells us that "faith without works is dead" and what this basically means is with right believing comes the right actions that are in line with what your faith is believing God for. Stir up your faith in combination with doing the right actions for God is faithful and He is on your side and He shall not put your faith to shame.
Let's pray:
Heavenly Father, we thank you for this Word, we ask that your grace abundantly and exceedingly above all that we could ask or imagine supplies every area of our life that requires spiritual persistence and determination, that we may run the race and win the prize. We thank you for the blood of Jesus Christ that has stopped every force of darkness coming against us in the Name of Jesus Christ. We speak to every promise that You have given to us as your children either through hopes, dreams or promises in the Word and say rise up In the name of Jesus Christ. We thank you that hopes and promises are now alive in the hearts of your children and by Your grace Lord, You have given all of us the ability to be hearers and doers of this word shared today In Jesus' Name, AMEN. THANK YOU LORD.
