Power of prayer - Part 4

Today's lead Word is from 1 John 5:14-15 NKJV

"14.Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

15.And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."

Amen.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your Word that is alive and full of light. May its power radiate upon our lives, minds, hearts and soul In Jesus' Name.

The above Scripture speaks about the heart of prayer. When we commune with our Father in prayer, we come in confidence knowing that He hears us. Your thoughts may wonder or your current circumstances may make you question whether God truly hears you when you pray but He does. In fact God hears us so well that He wants us to have the confidence and the trust that whatever we have asked Him for, He has already heard us and shall answer at the appropriate time.

Well then your next question maybe, how come I have been praying about this particular issue and have not yet heard back from God. There is power in continuous prayer. Continue to hold up your faith and do not give up until you see results. In Luke 18, there is a story of a widow who persistently asked a judge to help her get justice from her adversary. In Luke 18:4-5 the judge said; "...Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me." Then Jesus said in Luke 18:6-7, "...Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge his own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?" Friend, God listens when we pray and He desires to answer our prayers. When any thoughts of doubt come your way, always remember that God is a giver and not a taker.

However they are times we present God with our prayer requests and they don't get answered. Just like you, I don't have the answer to this question but God always remains faithful and His plans for us are good. Today's lead Word tells us, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. When Jesus was about to be taken away by the soldiers for crucifixion and prayed to our Father in Luke 22:42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." And look at what happened when Jesus through His obedience allowed God's will to take place despite the excruciating pain, He was glorified and mankind was saved to the glory of the Father. Hallelujah. Friend, God's plans for you are so big and they will take you to places beyond your dreams and requests. Continue in the place of prayer.

I'll end with this Scripture in Galatians 6:9 NKJV:

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

Amen.

Invitation to salvation: Finally, in case you have not already, I invite you to believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins. I repent of my sin. I choose Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever.

Congratulations, by grace you have been saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and buying a Bible or downloading the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one!
