Reunion with God

Father, I ask that everyone who is reading this post receives a revelation of You and Your love for them In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Today's lead Scripture is Romans 8:29-30 MSG

"God knew what he was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those love him along the same lines as the life of his Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity he restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in him. After God made that decision of what his children should be like, he followed it up by calling people by name. After he called them by name, he set them on a solid basis with himself. And then after getting them established, he stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what he had begun."

A reunion with God is one that acknowledges you, the Father, God, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are on the same team. When you are a part of competitive sport, you and your teammates work collaboratively and are united. There is a coach who instructs and guides you in routine that is usually formed as a result of discipline. The routine in this case is training or preparation for you to obtain the trophy. The day to day events in life are the preparation and the trophy is the eternal reward of salvation.

Psalm 23:1 reminds us that "the LORD is my Shepherd, I shall not want." Players in a sport don't come up with their own rules. and as a result they have a coach. Our coach as believers is the LORD, Jesus Christ who equips us with what we need in this life to be conquerors in each and everything we do through the Holy Spirit. This does not mean an absence of evil because we are in a fallen world that is under the purview of the enemy but thanks be to God because our faith in the LORD and Shepherd, Jesus Christ, the Son of the true and living God, who re assures us into rest because we know the end of every struggle and story is finished. That is, Christ has already won the victory by conquering every sin, evil and force of darkness when He was hang upon the cross.

You may then wonder what is all this training and routine about. I have one word for and it's called renewing the mind. When you have just become a born again believer, the Bible says that you are a new creation and the old has passed and the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17). This means that God, the Father no longer remembers your sins anymore and whatever separation that happened between man and God when the serpent enticed the forbidden fruit (fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil) to Adam and Eve in the garden no longer exists when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. After you're born again, the Holy Spirit of God comes to live inside of you. At the same time, especially for some who may not have received Christ at a young age, the confession of faith may not immediately wipe away your memories, previous bad habits and lifestyles but with the person of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of your spirit, you will always be redeemed, forgiven and sanctified by God and nothing can take that away from you.

However, the Holy Spirit as your Helper is able to lead and guide you to overcome whatever lifestyles and desires that may no longer align with God's purpose for your life as a new creation.

This is where discipline becomes important and in most cases, discipline precedes focus. Proverbs 23:12 says, "apply your heart to discipline and your ears to the word of knowledge." Just so we are clear, we can do nothing without the Holy Spirit. He is the One who embodies us with the strength to be able to successfully obtain the prize/trophy. In case you are wondering, the best way for the Holy Spirit to embody you with strength is to yield to Him by cultivating the discipline of reading the Word. The LORD speaks to us and says, "my sheep listen to my voice, I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27) and also most importantly, Romans 12:2 implores us, "Do not copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you which is good and pleasing and perfect." When we discipline ourselves with the help of the Holy Spirit into the habit of creating time and reading the Bible, praising God, fellowshipping with other believers, it changes everything. Our thoughts are renewed which in turn gives us revelation about God, the Father and His good will for our lives hence changing and aligning us to be more like Christ. The Bible reminds us of this truth that as Christ is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17) and we cannot do this without disciplining ourselves to read the Word and spending time in God's presence. 2 Timothy 3:16 tells us, "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."

Ultimately, a reunion with God implies that there is no conflict of interest. Nothing will come against you that affects your well being that does not affect the Father because you and Him are on the same team.

My prayer for you today is for God to amaze you with His love, may your mind and your entire being focus on the good plans He has for you and your loved ones, may your thoughts receive the revelation that God's love for you through Jesus Christ is already settled and you are both on the same team. Psalm 84:11 CEV says, "Our LORD and our God, you are like the sun and also like a shield. You treat us with kindness and with honor, never denying any good thing to those who live right." In the Name of Jesus, AMEN.

Thank you Father.

Invitation to become a new creation or to re commit your life to Christ: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always wanted you to be reunited and restored in relationship with Him, who loves you with an everlasting love before you ever loved Him and has given you eternal life through the faith of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises are yes and amen, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith or if you don't have one, become a part of a church. I also encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! If you have taken the confession of faith and would also like a physical copy of the Bible, please send us an email at info@bibleversionoflife.com with your address. We would love to hear your story. GOD BLESS.
