The faithfulness of God

Numbers 23: 19 NKJV

God is not a man, that He should lie,

Nor a son of man, that He should repent.

Has He said, and will He not do?

Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Do you have a promise that God has spoken to you? Is it found in His Word or did you receive it by the Holy Spirit? When God told Abraham and Sarah they were going to have their own biological child, Isaac, when Sarah was ninety years of age and Abraham was one hundred years old (Genesis 17:17) it seemed unreal.

The Bible in Genesis tells us Sarah laughed. And God asked Sarah why she laughed despite her denying it (Genesis 18:12-15).

The book of Hebrews in chapter 11 shares some stories of the men and women who were recognized in the Bible because of their faith. The same Sarah who laughed before she received God's promise to her of conceiving Isaac when she was past child bearing age is also among these heroes of faith.

Hebrews 11: 11 tells us that "by faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised."

Despite Sarah's laughter that may have expressed doubt, God did not change His mind about giving Sarah and Abraham the promise of Isaac. God remained faithful because He cannot deny Himself as that is His constant nature (2 Timothy 2:13). Our Heavenly Father is consistently and constantly devoted to meeting all of our needs as His children because He is in love with us.

Consequently, the promise of Isaac transitioned Sarah's faith to a level where she could please God (Hebrews 11:6) as the Scripture tells us she received strength from God to conceive Isaac's seed.

Faith is a journey where a lot of our circumstances may not make logical sense to our human minds. However, if we constantly surrender ourselves to the Spirit of God, He shall take us to places where we would never arrive at with our own human understanding. If Sarah in her old age conquered her doubt and received her promise of Isaac, so shall you receive all of God's promises concerning your life. Believe God, child of God. He is faithful and He is for you.

My prayer for you today is that God gives you strength as He gave to Sarah to conceive seed of His promise by increasing your faith to an unimaginable measure that pleases God and cannot be expressed in words as your name is added to that list of the women and men of faith found in Hebrews 11, In Jesus Name. AMEN

Psalm 145 :10 - 13

10. All Your works shall praise You, O LORD,

And Your saints shall bless You.

11.They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom,

And talk of Your power,

12. To make known to the sons of men His mighty acts,

And the glorious majesty of His Kingdom.

13. Your Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,

And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
