The LORD, Our Righteousness

Updated: Nov 29, 2023

Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 54:14, I pray that you are blessed with every spiritual blessing in heaven (Ephesians 1:3) as you receive the fruit of this Word In the Name of Jesus.

"You will be firmly established in righteousness:

You will be far from [even the thought of] oppression, for you will not fear;

And terror, for it will not come near you."

AMEN.

Lately, peace and hope has a become a valuable necessity that everyone desires especially in this world that is full of ups and downs. Today's lead Word are the words the LORD God spoke to Isaiah, who was a prophet during his time. You may wonder what is the relation between today's post and the all the current changes that are happening in the world. Well to begin with, as much as there are so many changes happening in the world from instability, to food shortages, to wars and migrations, the Bible tells us that there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). You may be blessed to have lived long enough to see that some events in the world are repeating themselves or alternatively, you may be seeing some events for the first time which may at times cause fear and uncertainty for the future but may our good LORD continue to comfort you as you trust in Him.

When the LORD spoke to Isaiah the prophet in the above lead Scripture, He said to him that you and I will be firmly established in righteousness. The righteousness that the LORD spoke of was His righteousness, that is freely supplied to us by grace through faith when we choose to have a personal relationship with God, the Father. When we accept the LORD's righteousness, we are born-again and take on His spiritual identity as children of God. When we accept the LORD's righteousness we acknowledge that it is not our acts of kindness our goodness that give us right standing with God but the Father's love through Jesus Christ and His finished works on the cross.

Isaiah 64:6 speaks of the unworthiness of 'human righteous actions' before God and it reads, "We are all infected and impure with sin. When we display our righteous deeds, they are nothing but filthy rags. Like autumn leaves, we wither and fall, and our sins sweep us away like wind."

The LORD promises in Isaiah 26:3 that He will keep all whose minds are stayed on Him because they trust in Him which in turn gives us hope. The key thing to remember here is to entirely and completely trust in the LORD, not in your actions, career, finances or family. When you are kept in peace by the LORD, you experience safety and stability not based on the circumstances around you but in the God who created you. When you are at peace and are firmly established in righteousness, you are standing on the integrity and faithfulness of God as your Father trusting in His promises to sustain and take care of you more than you trust in your own abilities or talents.

How do we obtain the LORD'S righteousness?: Accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour by taking the confession of faith, gives us right standing with God as the the sinful nature that everyone is born with becomes replaced with the sinless nature of Jesus Christ. The Word in 2 Peter 1:3, reminds us that as God's children, His divine power has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness. This means that as God's child, if there is a need that will ever arise in your life, God already took care of it through Jesus Christ. HALLELUJAH!

One of God's promises to His children is peace. When Romans 3:4 says, "let God be true and every man a liar", I believe it means may the grace and truth found in Christ be true including all the precious promises that the Father has given to us through Christ and every feeling of man including the works of the flesh be a lie.

So when your feelings tell you are oppressed, or are in doubt as to whether God loves you, or experiencing thoughts that make you feel afraid, or like you have to work for your joy, peace, righteousness, it is a lie.

As a result, the Holy Spirit on the inside of You cannot bear witness with these lies that are contrary to your identity as a child of God because the LORD is Your Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6) and in Him you have been freely given all things including your provision, health, redemption, healing, salvation, peace, joy, love, self-control to mention some of the many promises that the Father has provided to us in Christ - which are true.

Prayer out loud: Abba Father, thank you that the end of myself is the beginning of Your never ending love revelation for me. Thank you Father for redeeming me from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Your marvelous light. Thank you Father that because of the LORD, Our Righteousness, I am righteous, I am at perfect peace because you help my mind to be stayed on You through the Holy Spirit, I am healthy and whole, I Iack nothing, I am holy and without blame before you in love and I am blessed In the Name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.

I'll end with this Word in 1 John 4:4

"You are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."

Amen.

Invitation to the LORD's righteousness or to re commit your life to Christ: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always wanted you to be reunited and restored in relationship with Him, who loves you with an everlasting love before you ever loved Him and has given you eternal life through the faith of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises are yes and amen, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith or if you don't have one, become a part of a church. I also encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! If you have taken the confession of faith and would also like a physical copy of the Bible, please send us an email at info@bibleversionoflife.com with your address. We would love to hear your story. GOD BLESS.
