Today's blessing

Today's lead Scripture is from Matthew 6:34 NKJV

"Therefore don't worry abut tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

AMEN.

One of the main things that God had in mind for His children when He sent His one and only Jesus Christ was for us to have rest. God knew that anxious thoughts would come up especially in seasons of uncertainty such as the times we are currently living in now. Sometimes these seasons of uncertainty may force you to worry about tomorrow but Jesus tells us to be present and focus on today because tomorrow will take care of itself.

At the same time, I believe that Jesus was not telling us to be passive and in active about today because the Bible encourages us to work and apply the skills and gifts that God has given to us in different ways. In Ecclesiastes 9:10, the Word says, "Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom." Thoughts of worry and anxiety are a barrier to living life fully in the present. Jesus tells us to live in today and that today's troubles are enough because He does not want us to get overwhelmed. Planning ahead is good and God encourages us to have plans. However, these plans should not be based on fear but should be guided by the Holy Spirit. In other wards, your planning should not be based on a negative emotion because God wants us to fully trust and rely on Him for today. Your Abba Father knows your needs better than you know them. The Father knows the exact numbers of hair on your head (Matthew 10:30) and if he can take care of the the birds in the air, He surely will take care of you because you are of much more value to Him than the birds (Matthew 10:31). Therefore, take heart and rejoice, the love of God in Christ surrounds your life, your loved ones and everything you do.

I'll end with Jesus words to the disciples before His crucifixion in John 16:22-24 NKJV

"22.Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

23.And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give to you.

24.Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." Amen.

Prayer: Father, thank you for knowing our needs better than we do. Thank you for meeting all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ - truly, we are blessed today and forever more. We thank you for giving us the wisdom and ability to be fully present and do the work that is required of us today while not focussed on tomorrow, In Jesus Name, Amen.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know more about this God, the Father who supplies all Your needs according to His riches in glory, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I choose Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith or if you don't have one, become a part of a church. I also encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! If you have taken the confession of faith and would like a physical copy of the Bible, please send us an email at info@bibleversionoflife.com with your address. We would love to hear your story. GOD BLESS.
