Exodus Ch.21-23

Father God, we praise Your holy name, the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega, the ancient of days. We thank you Ebenenzer for this far that You have carried us all through the year and we continue to usher Your presence into every part of our lives for the rest of the year 2024 In the Name of Jesus. Speak to us LORD as we read and share the Word, give us revelation and understanding In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

The above chapters in the book of Exodus highlight the laws that the LORD gave the children of Israel as they were in the wilderness. For instance, in chapter 21 we see Moses sharing the law concerning servants, violence and animals. In chapter 22, we see him also sharing the laws for governing property and moral principles such as treating strangers, widows and the fatherless children well (Exodus 22:21-23).

I encourage you to check out these chapters. The level of detail contained in these chapters portrays God's love for us as a Father who cares about every single part of our lives. Jesus in Matthew 10:30 tells us not to worry because every single strand of hair on our head has been numbered. This is how well known and precious we are before God's sight.

God takes the promises He gives His people seriously. Isaiah 55:11 shows us the established nature of God's Word. It reads, "so is my word that goes out from my mouth" It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

Exodus 23:20 reveals God's heart to keep His promise to His people. It reads, "Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared." Again, we see God taking the proactive steps to ensure that the Word that He spoke to the children of Israel entering the promised land came to pass. Friend, God still does the same thing today and I believe He is sending an angel to go before you and bring you to the fulfillment of His promises concerning your life In the Name of Jesus.

If the LORD promises Jesus' blood and His stripes on the cross have made you healthy and whole, you are healthy and whole. When Jesus Christ tells us that now we can come boldly before the Father's presence in His name, without fear, guilt and shame because of His death on the cross and resurrection, His promise is truth. If He tells you, that you are now a new creation after confessing Christ as your Lord and Saviour and the old life you previously lived is no more, it is truth. If God took His Word seriously enough to ensure that it had come to pass by sending an angel to follow the children of Israel to the promised land, my question to you is, do you take God's Word seriously by believing every promise He has for you in His Word? The LORD gives them another promise in Exodus 23:25-26 and He says, "So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days." The same way this promise was true then, it is still true today for you and I. God's plan from the beginning has always been about blessing us. Sickness, disease, barrenness and every hinderance to fruitfulness has never been God's plan for humanity.

However, as much as the LORD desires to continually bless our lives with His goodness, it is important to remember that the LORD hates it when His people worship or make covenants with other false gods (Exodus 23:24). The LORD made it clear that if His people submitted to serving the other gods, they would be unable to receive His blessings.

Trusting and making covenants with other false gods also defies the greatest commandment that Jesus gave which is, "And you must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength." (Mark 12:30).

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always desired for you to be holy, free and restored in relationship with Him through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises of healing and blessing are yes and amen, whose mercy and love endures forever, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
