Father God, we thank you for this new day, for this moment. As we read and meditate upon the Word today, may all hearts be fertile ground to receive the Word in the name of Jesus. May whoever needs wisdom receive it; may whoever needs conviction receive it; may whoever needs comfort receive it, may whoever needs transformation receive it, may whoever needs edification receive it in their lives; may whoever needs restoration receive it in their lives, and may all those that need healing receive their healing by Jesus' stripes in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD for every spiritual blessing that You have blessed us with because we are in Christ Jesus.

As a child, you may not or you may have read the story of Joseph. For the most part, we all remember that Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers and then 'later' became great in all of the land of Egypt.

Today's post is on Genesis 41, the chapter where every dream and Word that the LORD gave Joseph was fulfilled.

Genesis 41:1-8 tells us that after two years passed, Pharaoh had a disturbing dream that none of his magicians could interpret. It is at this point we see the chief butler convicted of his shortfall. He narrates to Pharaoh about Joseph, a man they met in prison, who accurately helped them interpret their dreams. Pharaoh immediately sends for Joseph.

Genesis 41:14 NKJV highlights the beginning and a change of season in Joseph's life. It says, "Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh."

When Joseph entered Pharaoh's presence, the king told him what he heard about him from the chief butler but Joseph did not take any credit for it. He acknowledged that it was only God's power and wisdom that gave him the ability to interpret dreams. Genesis 41:16, "So Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, "It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh an answer of peace."

Personally I'm fond of Joseph's positive attitude and outlook in the above verse. He did not need to know whether the dream was bad or not, Joseph understood that regardless of the circumstances, God would give Pharaoh an answer of peace.

I highly encourage you to read this chapter to see God's power illustrated in Pharaoh's dreams and Joseph's interpretation in detail. A summary of Joseph's interpretation - God was warning Pharaoh in advance of the famine that was coming upon Egypt. This famine would last seven (7) years. However, before the famine, there would also be seven (7) years of plentiful harvests (Genesis 41:28-31).

After this interpretation, Joseph offered advice to Pharaoh. He recommended that he appoints a man who was wise and could oversee a system of food storage during the plentiful years so that Egypt would have sustainence during the seven years of famine (Genesis 41:33-36). It was at this moment that Pharaoh decided there was no wiser man in all of Egypt. To reiterate, Genesis 41:38-39 reads, "And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?" Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "In as much as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you."

Initially, we saw that Joseph acknowledged that he did nothing apart from God and now Pharaoh could testify that indeed the Spirit of God is upon Joseph. It is important to note that Pharaoh did not serve the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob but when he witnessed Joseph's wisdom, he knew beyond a shadow of doubt that Joseph served an Almighty God that is umatched in power and wisdom.

Today as children of God, 1 Corinthians 2:13 NKJV reminds us that we have been blessed with wisdom and power found in the Son of God, Christ. It reads, "but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God."

As a child of God, God's wisdom and power is not only to save and redeem you from sin, hell and death but it is also for your benefit and application in everyday life. My prayer is may the power and wisdom of God found in Christ Jesus be activated upon your life and open doors for your destiny and God-given purpose that no man can shut in the name of Jesus.

TO BE CONTINUED...

I'll end with this Word found in Psalm 25:9-10 (AMP)

  1. "He leads the humble in justice, and He teaches the humble His way.

  2. All the paths of the LORD are lovingkindness and goodness and truth and faithfulness to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies."

AMEN, thank you LORD.
