Jehovah, we thank you. We worship You LORD God and put in remembrance the first and greatest commandment, that You are the LORD our God and You are One. We choose to love You with all of our hearts, with all of our souls, with all of our minds, with all of our bodies and all of our strength. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven concerning our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 40:1-5 (NKJV)
"1.Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" says Your God.
2.Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins."
3.The voice of the one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
4.Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth;
5.The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Today's post stems from Isaiah chapter 40 and the LORD's word to you is, "be comforted, your warfare is ended - amen! The following verse continues to state the basis for this comfort and says, "..tell her that her iniquity is forgiven." It is greatly profound that God relates our greatest comfort to the forgiveness of our iniquities and sin.
In Isaiah 40:3, we see a reference of one who is crying in the wilderness to prepare the way for the LORD and this LORD, is Jesus Christ. In the gospels, we also witness that John the baptist was the person mandated by heaven to announce the coming of the Son of God, who died for the sin of the world so that mankind would be saved from the incorruption of sin that causes death by receiving eternal life found in Christ.
Friend, Jesus is the reason for our comfort. Because of Christ, our warfare is ended. As a child of God whose identity is established in Christ, every warfare the enemy may attempt to wage against you is completely destroyed because of Christ's finished work on the cross. You are not in some fight contesting between darkness and light because Jesus has already fought every war you would ever had to fight. Jesus has already defeated every power of darkness on your behalf as the captain of our salvation who has brought many sons to salvation (Hebrews 2:10). Hebrews 2:14-15 NKJV continues to demonstrate the comfort God's people have in Christ and it says, "Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." This is the reason Isaiah in the above verses speaks of every crooked place that has been made straight and every mountain hill brought low because the glory of the LORD has been revealed in Christ.
One of the many blessings we partake in as children of God is the peace that is found in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Since we have peace with God, everyone and everything is at peace with us through the blood of Christ because God has reconciled all things on heaven and on earth to His Son (Colossians 1:19-22).
As believers, we live and conduct every affair of our lives not based on our understanding or strength but in Christ and all He has accomplished for us on the cross. Isaiah 40:29-31 (NKJV) continues to proclaim the LORD's majesty over our lives and the LORD says, "He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall run and not faint." - Amen.
I'll end with this Word found in Romans 8:2 (NKJV)
"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: When you receive Jesus Christ, the Son of God, you have the privilege of Christ, the hope of glory living on the inside of you where you are a child of God who has eternal life and walks and lives the abundant life here on earth. This happens after you give your life to Christ and become born again which means all your sins are forgiven, washed away and you receive the free gift of eternal life and every blessing of God found in Christ.
If this sounds like you, please repeat this prayer after me;
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
