Praise be to God, for His mercy endures forever. Praise be to God for His mercy endures forever. Praise be to God for His mercy endures forever. This is the day that the LORD has made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it in the name of Jesus. Abba, we praise Your holy name and thank you for all that You have been to each and every one of us LORD God. Thank you for this new week and as we read today's post may we be reminded of Your mercy and love that endures forever in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's post is coming from Isaiah chapters 15, 16 and 17. Herein, we still see the Word of the LORD against Moab, Damascus and Syria. Whether the geographical regions spoken of in this prophecy are aligned to the present day nations of these very countries today is still debated but one thing for sure is the prophecy spoken by the LORD through the mouth of the prophet, Isaiah, still stands true and must come to pass. Psalm 12:6 NKJV reminds us that "the words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."
We see the LORD judging the pride of Moab. Isaiah 16:6 NKJV reads, "We have heard of the pride of Moab - he is very proud - of his haughtiness and his pride and his wrath; but his lies shall not be so."
Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV tells us the seven things that the LORD hates. The LORD "hates a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren."
It is important to note that the LORD will not judge anyone who has not been exposed to the truth. For then, His judgment would be unjust and God is not unjust. Isaiah 16:5 NKJV reads, "In mercy the throne will be established; and One will sit on it in truth, in the tabernacle of David, judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness." The One mentioned in this verse hastening righteousness is Jesus Christ, the Son of God. John 14:6 reminds that truth in its origin is found in Jesus for He is the way, the truth and the life and no one can come to the Father except through Him. When Jesus died on the cross and later ascended in glory to heaven after His resurrection from the dead, Scripture speaks of His second return to earth which is currently upon us.
One of the apostles of the early church, Peter, cautions us in 2 Peter 3:9 NKJV that, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."
To reiterate, God is not unjust and He desires for all to repent of their wicked works and turn to Him. For anyone who promises to turn from their wicked ways with a repentant heart, the LORD promises to show His mercy regardless of their previous sin and transgressions because it is not His will that anyone should perish.
In the previous chapter, we saw how satan's children also built cities and in chapters 15-17, we see that all their works will be destroyed and their strong cities will be forsaken and desolated (Isaiah 17:9). As a result, Isaiah 17:7-8 NKJV tells us, "In that day a man will look to his Maker, and his eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel. He will not look to the altars, the works of his hands; he will not respect what his fingers have made, nor the wooden images nor incense altars."
Friend, everything the enemy does has an end because as we saw in Isaiah 14, satan's end is destruction and his judgment is already written.
On the other hand, everything that God does echoes through eternity beginning with salvation found in Christ. So choose God's way. Choosing God's way is when you accept Christ as your Lord and Saviour and become a child of God by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). After this happens, your sin is forgiven, you are a brand new person with the promise of eternity and heaven as your home. At the same time, God wants you and everything about you to make it to eternity including the works of your hands. That is, God desires that every work you do during your stay here on earth is blessed and that it not only prospers you but also remains till eternity. Jesus in John 15:16 NKJV reiterates this truth and He says, "You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give to you." - AMEN.
Since our actions and the motives behind our actions will be audited by an eternal accountability system built by God Himself, we ought to consider our ways in everything we do and turn our hearts to God who is always waiting to shower us with His love and grace found in His Word.
I'll end with this Word found in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
AMEN, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to get to know this loving and merciful God, who wants to spare you from eternal judgment by partaking of His blessings as His child through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ, I invite you to make this confession:
Please speak the words below:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
