Isaiah 63

Father God, the Creator of heaven and earth. We worship You and give you all the glory and praise in the name of Jesus. As You tell us in Isaiah 45:8, rain down you heavens from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness; let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together since You, LORD have created it, Amen.

Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 63:8-9 (NKJV)

  1. "For He said, "Surely they are My people, children who will not lie." So He became their Savior.

  2. In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them; in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them and carried them all the days of old."

Amen, thank you LORD.

In this chapter of Isaiah, as much as we see the LORD's judgment, we also see a remembrance of His mercy and loving kindness towards His people as He delivered them from the bondage in Egypt. We also see that the LORD God was referred to as the Savior of His people then (Isaiah 63:8) and He is still Savior today for all who would call on His name to be saved. For God to be Savior, there is an admission or acknowledgment that we have lost our way and as a result we need His help. I believe this is the reason the LORD refers to them as children who will not lie because they acknowledged their need for a Savior. Since they were honest with God concerning every hardship and circumstance they endured, the LORD says, their affliction became His affliction and in His pity, He redeemed them and carried them all the days of old as seen in Isaiah 63:9. Friend, God is a heart God and He is interested in every detail of your life and heart. He is interested in every emotion, feelings of pain, joy and celebration especially when you approach Him from a place of honesty. Psalm 103:13 NKJV says, "As a father pities His children, so the LORD pities those who fear Him." God is not too far from your situation. There is no detail of your life that God is not aware of and does not seek to deliver you from it if you will put in your trust and confidence in Him. In Luke 12:7, we see that God has numbered even the hairs of our head - that is the level and attention to detail that He has concerning your life. God knows our exact needs, He also knows the things we need before we even need them because He is our Creator.

At the same time, it is important to recognize that God will only come where He is invited because He does not impose His will on anyone.

If you believe you have all the answers figured out in your wisdom and strength, God will not condemn you but the reality will remain that you are deceived and have believed the enemy's lie. During the exodus of the children of Israel from Egypt to the promised land, we see them choosing their own ways which greatly displeased the LORD. Isaiah 63:10 (NKJV) says, "But they rebelled and grieved the Holy Spirit; so He turned Himself against them as an enemy, and He fought against them."

Often times we may have heard of the deceptive colloquial phrase, 'God helps those who help themselves'.

Waiting and trusting in the LORD is not passive. It is an active participation of partnering with the LORD, through the Holy Spirit as He directs and guides you into the plans and purposes He has for your life. Unfortunately to human understanding, the LORD's leading does not always come in ways that the natural man may predict or in a way that may appease the flesh. But if you choose to obey by being still and moving when the LORD says go, the LORD's presence will be with you in all that you do and He will see to it that you arrive at your expected end.

The LORD in Jeremiah 29:11 CEV reminds us, "I will bless you with a future filled with hope - a future of success, not of suffering." Friend, God is faithful and He will see to it that He sends an Angel of His Presence so you and I arrive in all the good that He has prepared for us because we believe in Him. AMEN.

I'll end with this Word found in Proverbs 3:5-8 (NKJV)

  1. Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;

  2. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

  3. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil.

  4. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: God in His expression of love towards man sent forth His One and Only Son - the LORD and Savior, in whom is the forgiveness of sin. In the blood of Christ, we are reconciled in relationship to God and have direct access to Him as our Father - who in His love and pity, redeems us from every power of darkness, deception and anything that would separate us from His presence and the plans and purposes He has concerning us.

If you would like to join the rest of God's family, by receiving the gift of the abundant life which is found in His Son, Christ, please say this prayer below;

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
