Father God, we thank you that this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. Thank you for all that You have been to us all through the year, thank you for Your never ending love and mercy found in Christ alone that has protected everything that concerns us. Thank you for You Abba. We ask that may Your presence continue to lead and cover our lives, loved ones, communities, schools, governments, churches, economies and all that concerns us in the name of Jesus, Amen. Let Your name be glorified in all of the earth and let everything that has breath praise the LORD, Amen.
Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 5:1-4 (NKJV)
"1.Now let me sing to my Well-beloved a song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-Beloved has a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.
2.He dug it up and cleared out its stones, and planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, and also made a winepress in it; so He expected it to bring forth good grapes, but it brought forth wild grapes."
3.And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge please, between Me and my vineyard.
4.What more could have been done to My vineyard that I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, did it bring forth wild grapes?"
Isaiah chapter 5 starts off with a song to the Well-Beloved. I love that it is not just Beloved but the Well Beloved. How heart warming! What an honor to be counted among the Well-Beloved of the LORD. We see that the Well Beloved of the LORD has a vineyard, a fruitful vineyard as well that He has clearly nurtured and taken care of by creating all the right conditions in it so that it can produce good fruit. However, there's an issue. Turns out the vineyard that has received utmost care and all the right conditions to produce good fruit is instead producing bad fruit. In fact, Isaiah 5:4 refers to the fruit as 'wild grapes'. Isaiah 5:7 NKJV elucidates and shares, "For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are His pleasant plant. He looked for justice, but behold, oppression; for righteousness, but behold, a cry for help."
In this chapter, we see that the LORD is extremely unpleased for the people have continually rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel (Isaiah 5:24).
As you continue your reading, they are different scenarios that the people have strayed away from God's counsel. In one instance, some people mock the coming of the LORD (Isaiah 5:19); others the LORD says are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight (Isaiah 5:21); others drink intoxicating drink from early morning until late night (Isaiah 5:11); others call evil good and good evil (Isaiah 5:20); taking bribes to justify the wicked (Isaiah 5:22); to mention some of the examples given in this chapter.
However, in all these things, the message is clear that the people have forsaken knowledge. Consequently, Isaiah 5:13 tells us this is the reason that people have gone into captivity. It is important to note that their own actions have led them to captivity, not God's doing for His heart is always to save.
The LORD God in Hosea 4:6 reminds us that His people perish for a lack of knowledge. In my previous post, we saw the Word of God directing us that wisdom and power of God is found in Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:24 ).
Today, there is hope and it is clear that it is not God's desire for anyone to perish thus the reason that God sent Jesus Christ, His beloved that whoever calls on His name will be saved (Acts 2:21) from all sin, bondage, captivity and eternal judgment.
2 Peter 3:9 NKJV comforts us of God's righteous judgment and it tells us, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." In conclusion, God is patiently waiting to release judgment upon the earth so more people can hear His truth and turn their hearts towards Him to be saved from wrath and the deception in today's world.
I'll end with this Word found in 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 (NKJV)
"9.For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God.
10.and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come."
AMEN. Thank you LORD because of Your love for us only found in Christ, everyone who believes in Him has been delivered from the coming wrath. Glory to God.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to get to know this ever faithful God, who wants you to be in personal relationship with Him and go to heaven and escape eternal judgment and wrath through the power and wisdom found in His One and Only Son Jesus Christ, I invite you to make this confession:
Please speak the words below:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus.
