Father God, we lift our praises to Your holy name and we say may Your name be glorified over all the ends of the earth in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, give us understanding and soften our hearts as we read today's Word in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Isaiah chapter 8 tells of many calamities bound to happen to the people of Judah and Jerusalem who have forsaken the way of their LORD. We also see the LORD God instructing the prophet to be mindful and not walk in the way of the people that were around him. The LORD in Isaiah 8:12-13 NKJV says to him; "Do not say, a conspiracy, concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; let Him be your dread."
From the previous chapters, including this chapter as well, we see that the LORD has been speaking to the people and warning them to change their ways lest His judgment befall them.
However, in this particular chapter He is also speaking to the prophet which portrays to us that no one is above God's instruction regardless of gift or God's calling upon your life.
When Jesus Christ came in the flesh as a Son of God, the only way he He was able to fulfill His ministry was because of humility, obedience and submission to God, the Father. As a matter of fact, in the gospel of John, Jesus repeatedly told the people that He only does as He sees the Father do (John 5:19). Jesus did not do any work or perform any miracle out of His own personal preferences or choices despite bearing the image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15). When it comes to fulfilling your call here on earth, no person is above God's instruction. God is always doing a new thing and it is important that You be attuned to the leading of the Holy Spirit as You depend on Him with every decision.
Proverbs 19:23 NKJV demonstrates the beauty of walking in obedience to God's instruction and in reverential fear towards His holiness and might. It reads, "The fear of the LORD leads to life, and he who has it will abide in satisfaction; he will not be visited with evil."
Prayer: Father God, we commit our hearts to You LORD and we ask that may You consecrate them in Your fear in the name of Jesus. Thank you that the fear of the LORD leads to life. Thank you LORD that because of this fear, we abide in satisfaction and we will not be visited with evil all the days of our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.
I'll end with this Word found in Isaiah 8:18 (NKJV)
"Here I am and the children whom the LORD has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion."
AMEN, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to get to know this ever faithful God, who wants you to be in personal relationship with Him through His Son, Immanuel - who blesses us with the gift of obedience and reverential fear required for every decision and situation, I invite you to make this confession:
Please speak the words below:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
