Father, we thank you for the entrance of Your Word brings light, may Your light shine forth in our hearts, in our lives and in every environment we occupy for we are the light of the world in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's Word is from Matthew 11:29-30 NKJV and Jesus says,
"29.Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30.For my yoke is easy and My burden is light."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Jesus is sharing the above words with His people who have not yet received salvation. God, the Father was introducing a new way of living. This new way of living is that revelation in the truth of Jesus gives us true rest. This knowledge and revelation of Christ is what produces true rest for the soul as the Lord Jesus' yoke is easy and His burden is light.
1 John 5:3 (NKJV) says, "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." Friend, it's amazing that every instruction that God gives is not burdensome if seen in the light and revelation of the truth that is found in Christ.
Take for instance, the Old Testament - we see God giving the law through Moses. It's also important to note that the law is not only limited to the ten commandments, they were other detailed commandments as seen predominantly in the books of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
Nevertheless, God's people in the Old Testament obeyed the commandments. Otherwise, God would not have provided the law to His people if He knew that it would destroy them. This is the reason in different scenarios the LORD God kept reminding His people if they followed His commandments, all would go well for them. The law of the commandments could not remove the sin of the flesh (Romans 3:20) but it did not change the reality that God gave His people the ability to obey His commandments.
So we see, the law was good and for this reason Jesus reminds us that He did not come to do away with the law but to establish it (Matthew 5:17). We also see that the man had it in him to keep the law however despite the goodness of the law, the commandments could not remove sin.

Invitation to salvation: Today, God's free gift of salvation is extended to you, where it is not something you have to earn because it has already been given to you. But you have to desire it and the first step of desiring a relationship with God is by calling on the name of the LORD and if this sounds like you; believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to die for your sin and say these words:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
