Father God, what a blessing it is to call you Father. We worship You ancient of days. We worship you the Alpha and the Omega. We lift up our hands to You and say, may Your name forever be magnified in our lives in the name of Jesus.
Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 33:24 NKJV
"And the inhabitant will not say, "I am sick"; the people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity."
AMEN, thank you LORD.
Isaiah is speaking of a time when God's people will be able to celebrate in a city of appointed feasts (Isaiah 33:20) that the LORD God promises His people. In that city, the LORD says, the inhabitants will never say I'm sick and all of their iniquitiy will be forgiven. While it is comforting to know that there is no sickness in heaven, the new covenant through Jesus Christ shows us that we do not have to wait for heaven for sins to be forgiven and to live a disease free life. This is because God has made all of these blessings available for everyone here on earth because God's desire is for His creation to live a victorious life here on earth.
Hebrews 8:6 tells us that everyone who accepts Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour is a part of a new covenant that is established on better promises. Some of the blessings that God promises His children who are a part of the new covenant is the blessing of the forgiveness of sin and iniquity and the blessing of walking in divine health. The above Word in Isaiah 33:24 correlates with the knowledge shared by one of the apostles of the early church in Peter 2:24 (NKJV). It reads, "who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness - by whose stripes you were healed."
When Jesus, the Son of God died on the cross, He took every sin you and I would ever commit and at the same time bore all the dieases because He did not want sickness to be a barrier or to interfere with the good plans and purposes that He has for your life. So every bruise, flogging, torment, brutal and harsh mistreatment to say the least that Jesus' body endured while He was on the cross was so that you never have to experience pain or suffering in your body. The same way your sins were forgiven thousands of years ago is the same way your diseases and sicknesses were healed thousands of years ago through Jesus, death on the cross and resurrection from the dead. it is interesting to note, that even before Jesus came to die for the sins of the world, God still never wanted any of His people to undergo sickness. He always promised long life to all of His people who would obey His statutes (Exodus 15:26) despite the limitations of the old covenant. The LORD God in Psalm 91:16 also reminds us, "With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation." Again, we see the correlation between health which may represent long life and salvation which is ultimately the forgiveness of sin. It appears that God's heart has always been for His people to walk in freedom from the power of sin and to live healthy lives when they receive salvation found in the Son, Jesus Christ.
What does this mean for us today? -One word, renew your mind in God's Word. Romans 12:2 shows us the importance of renewing our minds. You renew your mind to the measure where the truth of God's Word is personalized to become your truth. Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) reads, "This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success."
Herein, we see that meditation on God's Word helps one to reflect and ponder on truth that only God can give through revelation found in the Bible. The truth of the Word becomes effective in your life when its not just a truth that someone has shared with you, but it becomes a truth that abides and resides in you to the point that you know that you know that indeed God is faithful and He is who He says He is and all the promises and blessings He has are for you to behold here on earth.
In order to get the most out of your Bible study, I recommend saying a prayer before you start reading the Word inviting the Holy Spirit into your personal devotional time. He will help by giving you revelation and understanding of God's heart that is mirrored in the Word.
I'll end with this Word found in Romans 3-4 (NKJV)
"3.For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect?
4.Certainly not! Indeed let God be true but every man a liar! As it is written: "that you may be justified in Your words, and may overcome when You are judged."
Romans 8:32 (NKJV)
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
AMEN, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: When you receive Jesus Christ, the Son of God, you have the privilege of Christ, the hope of glory living on the inside of you. This happens after you give your life to Christ and become born again which means all your sins are forgiven, washed away and you receive the free gift of eternal life and the blessing of divine health to mention some of God's blessings found in Christ.
If this sounds like you, please repeat this prayer after me;
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
