Isaiah 64

Father God, thank you for this is the day that You have made and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. Thank you Abba for the blessing of Your Word, we ask that it guides and orders our steps into Your righteousness, peace, joy and love in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today's lead Word is from Isaiah 64:4-5 (NKJV)

  1. "For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him.

  2. You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, who remembers You in Your ways. You are indeed angry, for we have sinned - in these ways we continue; and we need to be saved."

Amen, thank you LORD.

I love the sincerity that is in Isaiah 64:5 above where God's people acknowledge their need for a Saviour. Recently, I was having a conversation with someone and I was sharing with them how Christ is this perfect love story. He loves you, you love Him and there are no heartbreaks or overdoses of this love because God's love is perfect. Then suddenly, there was this awkward silence...that is worthy of all God's praise because I could see that God's Word caught their attention. And yet despite God's love for us, we break His heart.

In Mark 12:29-30 NKJV, when Jesus was asked the greatest commandments, He said, "The first of all commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the LORD our God, the LORD is one. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.' This is the first commandment.

Before the end of Isaiah 63, God's people had set their hearts to search and seek for God. In both Isaiah 63 and 64, God is referred to as their Father. Father is a title that is birthed from initmacy and relationship. In Isaiah 63:16 NKJV, they say, "Doubtless You are our Father, though Abraham was ignorant of us, And Israel does not acknowledge us. You, O LORD, are our Father; our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name." I believe it is safe to conclude that God's people have come to the end of their efforts and self reliance for they recognize that if not for God, they have no alternative help. In Isaiah 64:6 NKJV, they continue to say, "But we are like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are like filthy rags; we all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away like the wind." Simply, this means that our good actions, acts of kindness or behaviour modification does not make us right with God. This is what the prophet Isaiah refers to as our righteouness that is like filthy rags. Only the Father's righteousness that is found in His Son, Jesus is what gives us right standing with God. So because Jesus got it right, you also got it right in God's eyes when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. Thanks be to God, the Father that His love and mercy can be trusted for He will by no means cast away those who come to Him (John 6:37) especially for His help and intervention in any of life's circumstances.

I'll end with this Word from Isaiah 64:8-9 (NKJV)

  1. But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand.

  2. Do not be furious, O LORD, nor remember our iniquity forever, indeed, please look - we all are Your people!"

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: God in His expression of love towards man sent forth His One and Only Son - the LORD and Savior, in whom is the forgiveness of sin. In the blood of Christ, we are reconciled in relationship to God and have direct access to Him as our Father - who in His love and mercy, redeems us from every power of darkness, deception and anything that would separate us from His presence and the plans and purposes He has concerning us.

If you would like to receive Christ's righteousness, by receiving the gift of the abundant life which is found in His Son, Christ, please say this prayer below;

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.

GLORY TO GOD, THE LORD HAS REDEEMED YOU!- Amen.
