Father of glory, we thank you for this journey through the book of Isaiah. We seal every understanding and revelation of Your Word that You have shared with us all through the chapters including this final chapter of Isaiah in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Father, we ask that may our hearts be good ground for Your Word to flourish and yield abundant fruit for Your glory. May we always be people who both hear and apply the Word of God in our lives as we receive the grace to obey in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Lead Scripture is from Isaiah 66:1-2 (NKJV)

  1. Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is My throne, and earth is my footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?

  2. For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist" says the LORD. "But on this one will I look: on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My Word." (underlining is my emphasis)

AMEN, thank you LORD.

John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God." Please meditate on this verse whenever is possible. Herein, we see that the Word of God is God. To put it another way, your Bible is God speaking to you and this is the reason I believe it is important to develop a consistent relationship with reading the Word of God.

They are times when God will speak a word of encouragement or a word prophecy to His children and that Word is equally as powerful. At the same time, we thank God that He has given us His Word which we can always access in order to grow in intimacy with the Holy Spirit and find out God's plans and purposes for our lives. It is difficult to develop a relationship with someone you do not spend time with. The best way you can develop your relationship with God is through choosing to spend time reading the Word. If you notice, I used the word 'choose' because reading the Word is a decision that we actively have to incorporate into our daily routine.

Friend, God wants us to esteem His Word, to give it the honor and reverence it deserves because when we do, we will witness the power of God's Word in our lives. For instance, when you read Psalm 23, what is your attitude while reading it? Is it a Psalm you browse over with familiar eyes because you have read it ever since you were a kid? - Refuse to be familiar with God's Word in the name of Jesus.

In the gospel of Matthew 8:5-13, is a story of a centurion who approaches Jesus to heal his servant who was extremely sick and on his death bed. When Jesus told the centurion "I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed." The centurion knew that if God spoke, it must come to pass. He understood the power contained in God's Word. We later see him telling Jesus that he was a man under authority who had soldiers under him and once he gave an order for them to do something, they would do it. Jesus marvelled at his faith and He said that he had not found such great faith in Israel (Matthew 8:9-10).

In the book of Genesis, we see Abraham's servant sent to get Isaac a bride from Abraham's family land. However, Abraham' servant had a few concerns like finding a wife for Isaac who would preferably want to stay in her homeland but Abraham re assured his servant and said, "The LORD God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to give me saying, 'To your descendants I give this land," He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there." (Genesis 24:7). And how do we know that the servant believed the LORD's Word that He gave to Abraham? - He moved by faith to a foreign land and made a prayer as well asking, "O LORD God of my master Abraham, please give me success this day, and show kindness to my master Abraham." (Genesis 24:12).

As Abraham's servant continued in prayer, God opened His eyes to see and receive the blessing of a wife He had always prepared for Isaac. As a result, it is safe to conclude that understanding the power found in God's Word combined with prayer is a powerful asset in the life of a believer.

Prayer: Abba Father, we thank you that as we complete the book of Isaiah, we are grateful for the gift of Your Word as we meditate on Your goodness and mercy. We thank you LORD that as we abide in Your Word, we are established in righteousness and we live in perfect peace because our minds are stayed on You in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

I'll end with this Word found in Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

Amen, thank you LORD.
