Isaiah 41

Father, thank you for sending Your One and beloved Son, Jesus. In Jesus, we have redemption, deliverance, hope, salvation, freedom and the privilege of calling you our Father. Thank you for Your Word today, may it speak to our hearts and draw us closer to Your heart in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Chapter 41 of Isaiah is a continuation of chapter 40. It is important to note that chapters and verses are given to enhance our reading of God's Word but the original text shared by the Holy Spirit to the prophet, Isaiah, was not written in chapters and verses. In this chapter, the LORD God promises to renew the strength of His people in the following ways. He starts off with encouraging His people to look to Him, His greatness and majesty. Isaiah 41:4 shows the sovereign power of the LORD God who speaks and calls things into existence before their time that is, "...calling the generations from the beginning? 'I, the LORD, am the first; and with the last I am He."

The LORD also encourages His people to consider His faithfulness that He showed them in times past first through Abraham His friend, and also through Jacob (Isaiah 41:8). He reminds Israel that they are the His chosen people despite their circumstances. The LORD reminds Israel, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10-11 NKJV). Today, this promise is for you and I as well because we are God's people (Ephesians 3:6-7).

In this chapter, we see that strength is built in us when we firstly consider our identity in God, that we are His and He is ours. As believers under the new testament, because of salvation we are now children of God and heirs of God in Christ because of the new covenant that is found in the precious blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 8:16-17 & Matthew 26:28).

We also see that strength in God's people is derived when they consider the previous testimonies of the LORD's faithfulness, goodness, lovingkindness and trust that if God was able to do it before, He will do it again. Another way we may receive God's strength is when we meditate on His sovereignty and majesty over every power of darkness. God reminds His people to not be afraid because the fate of their enemies has already been pre-determined. Their enemies worship idols who have already been judged by the LORD God, "Indeed they are all worthless; their works are nothing; their molded images are wind and confusion." (Isaiah 41:29).

As God's people, I believe when we meditate on the above highlighted points in this chapter, the LORD God in turn equips us with strength and power to overcome every situation, "Behold I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and beat them small, and make the hills like chaff. You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them; you shall rejoice in the LORD, and glory in the Holy One of Israel.

To relay the word of the LORD through the prophet Isaiah and relate it to our inheritance in Christ, 1 John 5:4-5 NKJV reaffirms, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith." Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the son of God?" - AMEN.

I'll end with this Word found in Isaiah 41:11-13 (NKJV)

"11.Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish.

12.You shall seek them and not find them - those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing.

13.For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you."

AMEN, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: When you receive Jesus Christ, the Son of God, as your Lord and Saviour, you have the privilege of acquiring a new identity where you become a child of God. This happens after you give your life to Christ and become born again which means all your sins are forgiven, washed away and you receive the free gift of eternal life and every blessing of God found in Christ.

If this sounds like you, please repeat this prayer after me;

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
