Father, thank you for the blessing of a new day, the blessing of life, to worship You, to call on Your name and to abide in You. We choose to be glad and rejoice in this day. May You be our guide today and forever. Guide the meditations of our heart, the words we speak as You order every step and decision we make today and always in the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, we invite you into our homes and everywhere this Word is read. May You open up the eyes of our understanding as we read and share this Word. May our hearts be good ground for this Word to bear fruit in our lives for Your glory in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah chapter 58 shows us people who are awakened to serve the LORD God. In Isaiah 58:1-3, we see the people taking measures to draw closer to God but ultimately they reflect and ask a question and the question is; "why have we fasted, 'they say, and You have not seen? Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?"

The LORD God in His kindness responds with instructions about the kind of fasting that pleases Him. We see the fast that pleases the LORD is where one takes the yoke away from their midst and the pointing of the finger and speaking wickedness (Isaiah 58:9), loosing the bonds of wickedness, undoing heavy burdens and freeing the oppressed and breaking every yoke (Isaiah 58:6). We continue to see that sharing your bread with the hungry, bringing the poor to your house, covering the naked one and not hiding oneself from your own flesh (Isaiah 58:7) and honoring God on His Sabbath holy day by not doing your own pleasure or speaking your own words (Isaiah 58:13) is well pleasing to God.

The LORD promises that for everyone who finds delight in Him in this manner, He promises His presence to always be with them. The LORD God says, when this person who does the above calls on Him, He will answer and when they cry, He will say, "Here I am." (Isaiah 58:9). Since, we are also included in this blessing as God's children, the LORD promises in Isaiah 58:8 NKJV, "Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard." - Amen.

I'll end with this beautiful Word still found in Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV)

"The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail."

Amen, thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: God in His expression of love towards man sent forth His One and Only Son in whom is the forgiveness of sin. In the blood of Christ, we are reconciled in relationship to God and have direct access to Him as our Father. If you would like to receive the gift of the abundant life which is found in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, please say this prayer below;

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.

REJOICE, THE LORD HAS REDEEMED YOU!- Amen.
