Conqueror
Isaiah 54:16-18 NIV
16."See it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work.
And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;
17.no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me."
AMEN.
This verse is one of my favourite parts of the Bible. Often the words no weapon forged against us easily roll off our tongues but do we understand what it truly means that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. As we embark on this journey to understand the meaning of the above Scripture with the help of the Holy Spirit, let's start with the verse before the one above. It says that "if anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you" (Isaiah 54:15). Often times when we are going through a trial, the first thing we wonder about is the presence of God and questioning His whereabouts. For starters, Hebrews 13:5 tell us us that "...God will never leave nor forsake us."
In this verse, Abba Father gives us the re assurance that whatever attack sent was definitely not from him. Right after this, the LORD further re assures that our enemies shall surrender to us. As if this is not enough, He reiterates in the verse for the day as seen above and says, "no weapon forged against us shall prevail". I don't know about you but God is clearly promising something to us that deserves our full attention which is that the no enemy, darkness or evil against us will put out God's children. Not under His watch. Hallelujah. As a child of God, you are a conqueror. Make this promise yours, speak it over your life and your loved ones. God is with you; He is for you and me as we continuously remember with the help of the Holy Spirit that "the just shall live by faith" (Romans 1:17). We are the just that the Word is making reference to.
I'll end with this Word in Exodus 14:14 NKJV
"The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."
Let's pray:
Abba Father, We thank you for Your Word. We thank you for Your love. How re assuring it is to know that we have the Creator of heaven and earth on our side, fighting all our battles because with You nothing is impossible. We thank you that the same way You created the destroyer, it gives us the re assurance that no situation or anyone is above Your power. Truly, no one who ever puts their trust in You shall ever be put to shame. Hallelujah, glory to the Almighty God, the Father of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Now LORD, we ask that you give us Your wisdom, knowledge and understanding to hold our peace not in our strength but in Yours as we rest in the finished victory of the cross that Jesus Christ conquered on our behalf. Thank you for sending Your One and Only Son to die for us, because of His obedience, we are forever conquerors In the Name of Jesus Christ. It is finished, thank you LORD.
Amen.
Invitation to salvation: Finally, in case you have not already, I invite you to believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins. I repent of my sin. I choose Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever.
Congratulations, by grace you have been saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
As a new believer, I urge you to prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and buying a Bible or downloading the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one!
