Isaiah 47

Father God, thank you for the Word and we thank you for the deliverance and hope that You have birthed and are currently birthing in the lives of Your people right now in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Isaiah chapter 47 in a nutshell is speaking of God's judgment towards those who consistently do evil. Thankfully, by God's grace, I'm able to see an illustration of God's hope and love in these prophetic words especially concerning His sons and daughters.

This chapter contains the LORD's judgment towards the spirit of wickedness, that is found in the virgin daughter of Babylon (Isaiah 47:1). They are many names she's referenced with in Isaiah 47 but ultimately the Spirit of the LORD informs us through the prophet Isaiah that her end and destruction has arrived. Isaiah 47:12 says, "Stand now with your enchantments and the multitude the of your sorceries, in which you have labored form your youth - perhaps you will be able to profit, perhaps you will prevail."

It is amazing to see the magntitude of the LORD's mercy and patience, that God did not judge her when she was still in her youth performing all the acts of wickedness. Instead, the LORD gave her more time hoping she would turn away from the evil in her heart by repenting and turning her ways to the LORD. In Isaiah 47:6, we see that God's people were under her oppression because they decided to turn their hearts away from their Maker. At the same time, God relents and in His anger and fury, He decides to put an end to the oppression of the enemy over His people. In Isaiah 47:11 the LORD God says, "Therefore evil shall come upon you; you shall not know from where it arises. And trouble shall fall upon you; you will not be able to put it off. And desolation shall come upon you suddenly, which you shall not know." In Genesis 8:22, we are introduced to the spiritual principle of sowing and reaping. Ultimately, the wicked person will reap from the wicked acts they have sown in other people's life.

What does this mean for a child of God in the new Testament? - Jesus, during His physical presence here on earth revealed in the gospels, encouraged us to bless and pray for our enemies and those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). I believe this is still the Lord's expectation from His people today and this does not mean that the LORD is blind or indifferent to the trials of His people. On the contrary, the LORD is saying that He knows a better way, 'better than that idea you have in mind', for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God (James 1:20).

At the same time, the LORD encourages His people to create room for His vengeance as He shall surely repay (Romans 12:19). In case you are experiencing any trial or persecution, may you be comforted that the LORD sees you and He personally knows every detail concerning you. The LORD says in Isaiah 49:15-16, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before me." - Amen!

Despite the pain, the LORD in His love and power for you will continue to protect, to help you, to provide for you, to restore your heart, to heal you, to make a way where there is no way, to equip you with supernatural strength to endure, overcome and to deliver you from every scheme of the enemy in the name of Jesus. In the meantime, I pray you continue to rejoice and sing praises to the LORD in your waiting season. He is worthy of all our praises.

In addition, the LORD at His second coming has assured His sons and daughters of His salvation and righteous judgment concerning all works of evil, "since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you." (2 Thessalonians 1:6).

I'll end with this Word found in Psalm 91:11-16 (NKJV)

"11.For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

12.In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

13.You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, the young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14.Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high because he has known My name.

15.He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

16.With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation."

Amen, thank you LORD.
