Father God, we thank you that this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it in the name of Jesus. Thank you for today's Word and we ask that it bears eternal and everlasting fruit in our lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's sharing is from chapter Isaiah 49. We see the LORD continuing the conversation of redemption for His people as previously seen in Isaiah 48. In this particular context, God in His mercy sends a servant, a Servant to rescue and deliver His people from all the captivity of the enemy.
Isaiah 49:5-6 (NKJV) says,
"And now the LORD says, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, to bring Jacob back to Him, so that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and My God shall be My strength),
Indeed He says, 'It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will give you as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth."
The Servant of the LORD God referenced above is Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
God, the Father decided that His precious Servant would no longer be a light and deliverer of the children of Israel but that He would also be a light and deliverer to the Gentiles. It is also important to recognize that they are two people speaking in this particular chapter. That is, one the one hand, the Lord Jesus speaks of His will aligned to the Father God's assignment which is to deliver His people, both the inheritance of Jacob who is also Israel and the Gentiles (Isaiah 49:1-6). On the other hand, we see the Father God, re affirming the call of His Servant as a covenant of salvation to humanity.
Jesus Christ is and will always be the ultimate expression of God, the Father's mercy. When God, saw His people, His precious creation that He made living in a world dominated by the enemy, He had compassion on us and sent Jesus who would deliver the people from sin and all the wicked schemes of the enemy.
When one receives the covenant of salvation found in Christ, they are saved from all the wrath of the enemy. Romans 5:8-9 (NKJV), "But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." God, as our Maker understood that without Jesus, His Servant coming to the earth, His people would be unable to succeed and advance into all that He created them to be and receive as an inheritance both here on earth and in the hereafter, heaven.
In the the second half of this chapter, we also the LORD God see re affirming His love towards His people and reminding them to take courage for "kings shall be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers; they shall bow down to you with their faces to the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD, for they will not be ashamed who wait for Me."- Amen! This promise is seen Isaiah 49:23 (NKJV).
Furthermore, the LORD God encourages His people in Isaiah 49:25 NKJV, "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children." - AMEN.
Time and time again, the LORD remind us that His presence and faithfulness abound regardless of circumstance. Friend, you are not forgotten. God remembers you and has your name written on the palm of His hands (Isaiah 49:15).
I'll end with this Word of the LORD in Isaiah 8:18 (NKJV)
"Here am I and the children whom the LORD has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts who dwells in Mount Zion."
Amen, thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: Today, God is still pursuing His people in love. In fact, God loves you so much that He had to send Jesus Christ His Son to die for Your sin (John 3:16). When Jesus died on the cross, an exchange happened where in His painful crucifixion, He bore all your sin, wrongs, shortcomings, iniquity, mistakes and diseases. Jesus took them so you do not have to bear them and this is the reason when you receive Him, you are whole, healthy, complete in Him and reconciled in relationship with God, the Father now until eternity. If this sounds like you:
Please say this prayer;
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever. Thank you Father that because the Son has made me free, I am now free indeed." AMEN.
NOW REJOICE, THE LORD HAS REDEEMED YOU!- Amen.
