Exodus Ch. 19
Updated: Aug 12
Father God, we thank you that this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it In the Name of Jesus. We thank you LORD for this blessed Sunday. Holy Spirit, give us revelation and open our hearts LORD to receive all You have in store for us today as we read and share Your Word today In Jesus Name, Amen.
Exodus 19 starts off with the children of Israel arriving at the wilderness of Sinai (Exodus 19:1). The LORD asked Moses to remind the children of Israel of His mighty deeds. He said, "You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles wings and brought You to Myself. Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel."
Today, because of the price that Jesus Christ paid on the cross, this special privilege that the children of Israel have is now open to the rest of the world. Now we get to share in the inheritance as beloved sons and daughters of God when we accept Christ, His One and Only Son as our LORD and Saviour. 1 Peter 2:9 reaffirms this and says, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light."
In Exodus 19:10-13, we see the LORD further instructing Moses to let the people consecrate themselves before coming near the mountain for whoever would come to the mountain whether animal or human being would die. God is love but He is also a holy God and there are no compromises.
After the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden, sin was introduced into the world, it corrupted man which in turn separated us from our ability to approach God directly because we were unholy.
However, thanks be to God for His perfect plan of sending His One and Only Son who died for our sins, a perfect sacrifice, who purified us forever with His blood. Now we can confidently approach the throne of grace boldly and bring our petitions before God in prayer (Hebrews 4:16). The people in the Old Testament purified themselves through their personal external works and activities like washing of clothes, etc (Exodus 19:14-15). However, in the New Testament, our purification happens internally and its not based on our external works but because of what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us when he died on the cross and resurrected from the dead.
When we accept Jesus Christ as our LORD and Saviour, we took on His faith, holiness and He starts to live on the inside of us through the Holy Spirit (Romans 10:9).
Galatians 2:20 TPT elucidate further on this and reads,
"My old identity has been co-crucified with Christ and no longer lives. And now the essence of this new life is no longer mine, for the Annointed One lives his life through me - we live in union as one! My new life is empowered by the faith of the Son of God who loves me so much that He gave Himself for me, dispensing His life into mine!"
Amen. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always desired for you to be holy, free and restored in relationship with Him through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises are yes and amen, whose mercy and love endures forever, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
TO BE CONTINUED...please remember to check out the Scriptures in your Bibles. A blessed and upcoming week ahead. May the LORD go before You in all that you do In Jesus Name.
