Exodus 25-30
Praise the LORD O my soul and forget not all his benefits. Holy Spirit, we thank you for Your presence and revelation as we read and share Your Word today. As always, may we see Jesus as we read and meditate on the Word In the name of Jesus, Amen.
At the end of chapter 24, we see the LORD asking Moses to meet him at the mountain where he stayed for forty days and forty nights (Exodus 24:18). During this time, the LORD God instructed Moses to speak to the children of Israel to bring Him offerings of gold, silver bronze, etc that would be used for building a sanctuary where God would live among His people (Exodus 25:1-8).
In Exodus 29:45-46 the LORD says, "I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God. And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them. I am the LORD their God."
Despite the physical separation of man and God in the garden of Eden, God's desire to live among His creation and be involved in the way we live our everyday lives has never changed.
Today, the LORD tells us that He no longer dwells in sanctuaries and temples built by man (Acts 17:24). Instead, He lives in you and me. When you accept Jesus Christ, His One and Only Son as LORD and Saviour, all your sins are wiped away by the blood of Jesus Christ and you receive a new identity as a daughter and son of God where you become free from guilt, shame, condemnation and live in the freedom that Christ purchased for you on the cross.
Most importantly, the Holy Spirit comes to live on the inside of you thereby making you God's dwelling temple. 1 Corinthians 3:16 "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?"
As a loving Father, God still desires to be close to us, to be that best friend, provider, healer, protector, advocate and everything you desire of Him to be for you right now. God desires that we acknowledge Him in all of our ways because He desires to guide us continually and abundantly supply all of our needs. Proverbs 3:6 says it best, "In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths."
Another important note was the LORD instructed the people to give the offerings out of a willing heart (Exodus 25:2). As a child of God, your heart of service may sometimes be more important than your service to God. The best way to examine your heart of service is through your motive. What is the intention of why you do what you do? Is it so that you can get the applaud of man or the applaud of God? God does not want an offering that would burden you or that you would give begrudgingly. He is the Creator of heaven and earth including you, He has no needs as He possess all things. When He sent His One and Only Son Jesus Christ, God, the Father willingly gave us His best gift with an open heart. As we give to the LORD's work, we are glorifying and thanking the Father who already gave us His best and perfect gift, Jesus Christ. At the end of the day, God does not need our offerings as there's nothing that we can take way or add to what He has already done but there is a reward and blessing that comes from a heart that is generous and loves to give for God has blessed us to be a blessing. As we bless others with willing hearts, we then become obedient children who are practicing and walking with the Father's heart to give.
Chapters 25-30 continue to reveal the specific instructions that Moses received to build God's sanctuary. The LORD God warned Moses not to deviate from any instructions that had been given him (Exodus 25:40). This shows us how God will always give you a blueprint for an assignment that He requires of you to fulfill. It might not have all the steps outlined from beginning to end, but you will have peace and clarity about the process as God is not an author of confusion. The LORD in Isaiah 30:21 reminds us, "Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left."
The LORD also revealed to Moses that only Aaron and his sons would be the holy priests allowed to go before His holy presence in the tabernacle and intercede on behalf of the people. Before entering God's presence in the tabernacle, Aaron and his sons had to perform certain works that enable them to become holy and minister unto God. For example, they had to wear certain garments (Exodus 28) and they also had to be consecrated first through offerings (Exodus 29).
Today, as children of God, we are high priests (1 Peter 2:9) who are now holy without performing any works because of the blood of Jesus Christ. Now we can boldly go before God's presence in the time of need (Hebrews 4:16) and the garments we wear as God's children are found in Ephesians in 6:10-18 which in summary is reading and believing the Word of God.
The specific instructions given to Moses also show us that the LORD God is a very detailed Father who even knows the number of hairs on our head (Matthew 10:26-31). May you receive comfort knowing that in whatever situation you maybe experiencing right now, He knows it. I encourage you to continue to acknowledge the Father God in the place of prayer so He may direct your paths because He is well able to meet all of your needs In the Name of Jesus. Amen. Thank you LORD.
I'll end with this Word in Titus 3:4-7 NLT:
"But when God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life."
Amen. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always desired to commune with you, dwell on the inside of you and redeemed you from every sin that causes shame, guilt and condemnation through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ - I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen. Feel free to reach out to us on info@bibleversionoflife.com. We would love to hear your story! God bless you.
