Faith Nugget
Updated: Sep 26
You are all welcome to my new addition to the blog called Faith Nugget. I'll be sharing the different ways we can edify our faith and grow together as a body of Christ.
The Bible in Hebrews 11:3 reminds us that everything that we see in the universe today was created by faith thousands of years ago highlighting the importance of faith in the life of a believer.
Today, I'm sharing on the free gift of salvation that we have received because of grace. Since we have freely been given this gift, Matthew 10:8 reminds us to freely give it to others as well. John 3:16 says for God so loved the world that He gave His One and Only Son to die for us. There cannot be love without giving. If you say you love God or anyone for that matter, be it your kids, spouse, etc, your love for them will usually manifest in the things that you do for them which in most healthy relationships is an indicator of your love. For instance, my Mom was not the best with verbally expressing her love but her 'I love you' was certainly fully expressed in her affectionate actions towards her family.
God, the Father is sharing a love story with us through His first born Son Jesus Christ. However, God's love for His children is expressed both in words and actions. So if you reading this, I hope you are already a believer and you know what Jesus has accomplished for you on through His death on the cross and resurrection from the death. For instance, we understand that salvation is a free gift that the LORD has given the world and those who have received it by grace freely share it with others. Sharing salvation to others is accomplished through sharing the testimony of Jesus Christ and what He has done for your life which causes the Holy Spirit to draw the hearts of the people that are meant to receive it in that moment.
Healing is another free gift that God has freely given to the world that can also be given to others. That is, we in Christ, have received it so we share it with others through the manifestation of spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:4-11) because we already possess divine healing in Him.
At the heart of grace is understanding that one can only freely give what they have receieved. Possessing something is not the same as receiving it. An example would be buying your morning coffee on the way to the office. However, when you get to the office, you find a combination of morning meetings and pending work awaiting on your desk leaving you no room to drink your coffee. You have the coffee in your possession but your body has not yet received the benefits that come with drinking your morning coffee. This may be related to a believer who has received by faith the salvation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ yet lacking in the full revelation of the blessings that he/she has yet to receive in Christ Jesus.
As a believer, I hope you encouraged to press in to know what God has for you through relationship with Him and reading the Word as a result of what you have freely received through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is important because the LORD is calling His children all over the world to fully and freely step into who He has called them to be. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that God knew us while we were in our mother's wombs meaning He is the only One who can accurately reveal the purpose for your life. To reiterate, as a child of God, it is not enough for you to only possess but most importantly to receive God's love as you can only give what you have freely received.
AMEN. THANK YOU HOLY SPIRIT.
Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always desired for you to be holy, free and restored in relationship with Him through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises of healing and blessing are yes and amen, whose mercy and love endures forever, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen
Until we meet again, have a blessed weekend!
