Father, we thank you LORD for who You are. Truly, there is no other God but You so we worship You and magnify Your holy name. Thank you for Your presence. Holy Spirit, we thank you that You are here with us, may You speak to the hearts of Your sons and daughters in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Today's sharing will be focussed on Genesis chapter 2. I encourage you to read this entire chapter to get a better understanding of today's Word. In Genesis Chapter 1, we see God speaking and by the Word of His mouth, He was able to create the heaven and the earth (Genesis 2:4). However, as much as male and female was created in Genesis 1:27, we see the manifestation of Adam in Genesis 2:7 when the LORD breathed into his nostrils the breath of life thereby making him a living being.
On the other hand, Eve as much as she was created by God in Genesis 1:27, her physical manifestation on the earth is seen later on in Genesis 2:22.
In addition, as much as God released the Word that created every plant into existence yielding fruit of every kind (Genesis 1:11), the physical manifestation of every herb and fruit tree only happened in Genesis 2:5 when the LORD God sent a mist to water the earth.
Hebrews 11:1 reads, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." I believe Genesis chapters 1 and 2 are the application of faith at work. In chapter 1, we see the faith and creative power of the spoken word of the LORD God while Genesis, chapter 2 is the substance and the physical manifestation of the things hoped for.
Genesis chapter 2 also highlights the mind of God and how everything that He creates is meant to accomplish a particular purpose. For example, we see that man's physical manifestation happened only after God had determined his purpose. Genesis 2:5 reads, "before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground." (my emphasis).
In Genesis 2:9, we see the LORD creating this beautiful garden with every tree that was good for food and this time round, the LORD God, puts man in the garden of Eden for the purposes of tending and keeping it (Genesis 2:15).
With man's purpose, also came instructions and prohibitions from God. For instance, as much as man had the freedom to eat of any fruit in the garden of Eden, God commanded him not to eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:17).
It is important that as you find your purpose and calling in Christ, that you are careful to always be obedient to the LORD God by taking heed to the instructions that He gives you. As a child of God, you have been given great freedom found in the salvation of our LORD and Saviour, Jesus Christ. John 8:36 reminds us, that He who the Son of God, Christ, sets free is free indeed.
At the same time, it is important to remember that with great freedom comes great responsibility.
As a result, Genesis 2, also illustrates the responsibility of purpose which in this case was Adam tending and keeping the garden. This was no small assignment as Adam had to name all the cattle, the birds of the air, and every beast of the field (Genesis 2:20). During the course of this assignment, it became clear to Adam that he needed a helper to assist him with accomplishing this purpose entrusted to him by the LORD God. Thankfully, the LORD God in His foresight and wisdom already knew that Adam would need a helper for him to successfully accomplish his purpose and prior in Genesis 2:18, "And the LORD God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him."
Genesis 2:21-24 (NKJV) reads,
21.And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22.Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
23.And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
24.Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
From the above verses, it is safe to conclude that God's heart when He created man was for fellowship and communion with Him. However, despite being in God's presence and Adam recognizing God's purpose for his life, man could still not be fully effective in his calling without a suitable helper, which was a woman. Consequently, before marriage, a man is required to forego the responsibilities of his father and mother's household to be able to wholly attend to his purpose and calling in Christ which is executed in marriage with the suitable wife as the helper that would help him fulfill this God-given assignment.
On that note, if you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal and everlasting life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus - I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations! - By grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank you because we know that no one can come to You unless you draw their hearts to you so right now we thank you for every heart that You have drawn to you to receive salvation in the name of Jesus. We join our faith and ask that You keep them in your love. Also, for everyone reading this post, may You draw the hearts of Your sons and daughters to yield to the Holy Spirit. Bless them Father with a heart of flesh that is able to walk in obedience, in relationship and in fellowship with You in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father that as Your children know You and their identity in Christ Jesus, You will reveal the plans and purposes for their lives as Your workmanship in the name of Jesus. Thank you that You do not play hide and seek so Father reveal the suitable helpers to Your sons and may Your daughters recognize them as Adam and Eve were both able to recognize each other in the name of Jesus. And as Jesus prayed, may You come and make Your home with them for the glory of Your Kingdom in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
