Father, thank you for who You are. We invite you into this place and thank you for all that You have been in each one's life. Thank you for Your presence and for this far that You have carried Your sons and daughters by Your righteous right arm. Today, we thank you for protection, for provision, for peace and we come in agreement and pray for brothers and sisters in other parts of the world who may be experiencing a difficult time LORD, be with them, guide and carry them LORD Jesus as their Good Shepherd. Be their cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night for You are the same yesterday, today and forever in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
I'll start off by sharing Jacob's words to the LORD found in Genesis 28:20-22 NKJV
"20.Then Jacob made a vow saying, "If God be with me in this way that I am going, and give me bread to eat and clothing to put on,
21.so that I come back to my father's house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God.
22.And this stone which I have set as a pillar shall be God's house, and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to you."
As previously seen in Genesis chapter 28, Jacob sees heaven in a vision and the LORD God makes a vow to him that He would be with him wherever he went (Genesis 28:15). Immediately after this personal encounter, we see Jacob make the above vow to God and continues on this unknown journey to his uncle, Laban's house. Fortunately for Jacob, he happens to encounter Rachel who was going to the well to feed her father's sheep (Genesis 29:6). Shortly before this encounter, a stranger had revealed to Jacob that Rachel was Laban's daughter (Genesis 29:5-6) and I believe in overwhelm and anguish of heart, Jacob "...kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice and wept." (Genesis 29:11). Rachel then introduces Jacob to the rest of the family and we see Jacob serve his uncle Laban for a good number of years. However, his uncle asked him what he would prefer his wages to be to which Jacob requested for Rachel's hand in marriage. Laban agreed to Jacob's request (Genesis 29:19) and Jacob worked for seven (7) years in order to marry Rachel. However, Genesis 29:20 tells us that these years to Jacob, "...seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her."
Sometimes, I wonder, could it be that Jesus Christ, the son of God feels this way. He was fully God yet in love, He humbled Himself and came in a human body to die for the sins of the world on a cross. He was innocent but because of the joy that was set before Him (Hebrews 12:2), that joy that you and I would be saved, redeemed, and reconciled to relationship with the Father when we accept His Son as LORD and Saviour. All the pain, accusations, shame, disgrace and public humiliation He experienced seemed only but for a moment in His eyes and in a way just like Jacob with Rachel (to the say the least) because of how much He loves you. Yes, you read that right, You - Jesus loves you.
He died on the cross, rose from the dead and ascended to God, the Father in glory in order for you to have eternal life and be reunited in relationship with God, the Father while still here on earth.
Jesus in John 14:6 NKJV says to us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." AMEN.
TO BE CONTINUED...
For today, I'll end with this Word found in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NKJV
"17.For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
18.while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
AMEN. Thank you LORD.
Invitation to salvation: In the same way, God works in His children by giving them the will and desire to receive and walk in obedience to His Son Christ Jesus who washes away all their sins and gives them a brand new life where you will live and abide eternally in God's presence while experiencing all the blessings He has for them.
If you would like to become a child of God as well; I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
