Father, we thank you for who You are and for who You have been to each one of Your children and proclaim praises to Your holy name. May Your holy name be magnified over every part of the earth and as seen in Ephesians 1:3, praise be to You, our God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places because we are united with Christ Jesus. Thank you LORD for your Word that is life, truth and light that is illuminating the minds of your sons and daughters as they read and meditate on the Word thereby redeeming their time in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

We are still looking at Genesis chapter 3 and today's lead Word is from Genesis 3:4-7 NKJV

  1. Then the serpent said to the woman, "You will not surely die.

  2. "For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

  3. So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

  4. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings."

The above passage in Scripture shows us that as much as knowledge is important because in Hosea 4:6, the LORD God tells us that 'my people perish for a lack of knowledge', at the same time, not all knowledge is beneficial to a child of God and it is wisdom to know and apply this wisdom in your life.

I ask the Father, that the wisdom and knowledge you learn will not be used by the enemy to work against you and the plans and purposes that God has for your life in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Currently, we live in a world where knowledge is easily accessible thanks to the advancement of technology which is all a part of God's plan for humanity's prosperity because at the core, God's heart is for His people to prosper in all things.

However, it is important to have discernment when it comes to the kind of knowledge that you consume as a child of God.

As much as the LORD God does not want you ignorant, at the same time, He does not want you feeding on knowledge that does not enhance or edify your relationship of love with Him.

For instance, we see that Adam and Eve, when they dwelt in God's presence in the garden of Eden, their eyes were closed to an evil called shame because God did not want their conscience to be opened to this evil which would eventually lead to a misalignment of their identity as image bearers of God. Child of God, every information you consume has the ability to draw you closer to God's presence or farther away from it and the enemy is fully aware of this. So the question becomes, are you aware of this as well?

Just like with every sin, the enemy first baits and lures the person to commit the sin by drawing their attention to the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1 John 2:16 ) and after the person commits the transgression, the enemy then begins to condemn them with guilt, shame, fear and doubt.

Father, I thank you that the enemy will not use any of Your children to make decisions that would work against the plans and purposes You have for their lives in the name of Jesus, Amen.

For context, let's apply 1 John 2:16 to Genesis 3:6 above in order to portray how satan lured Eve and Adam to sin against God. Firstly, we see Eve was able to view the tree as good for food which signifies the lust of the flesh at work, and that the forbidden fruit was pleasant to the eyes thus fulfilling the lust of the eyes and she also desired it because it would make one wise which illustrates the pride of life which eventually led to the action of disobedience to God's instruction.

Adam and Eve's disobedience to God's instruction of not eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil also introduced sin into the life of every person who is born into the world. As a result, their disobedience gave satan legal access not only to their lives but to all mankind.

But thank God for the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the One and Only Son of God who was sent to save the world from sin (John 3:16) - and as we read last week, those who call on the name of the LORD will be saved (Romans 10:13).

This in turn translates to the reality that Jesus Christ now becomes in charge of your life as your LORD and Saviour thereby barring the enemy access. Jesus reassures us of this truth in John 10:28 that every person that the Father God gives Him, Jesus gives them eternal life in return and no one can snatch him/her out of His hands because He becomes your protector and your guide as the Good Shepherd against every force of wickedness and powers of darkness. To reiterate, friend, no one can snatch you out of Jesus Christ's hands as He is will able to perfectly keep you safe.

May Christ's peace fill up your entire spirit, soul and body as you draw closer to focus on the knowledge and revelation of God that is good in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

TO BE CONTINUED...

I'll end with this Word in Philippians 4:8 AMPC

"Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God's Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable, and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]."

Amen. Thank you Father.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus such as joy, peace, love, guidance, victory and more - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
