Father, we worship You and we magnify Your holy name and say, praise be to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places because we are united with Jesus Christ. We thank you for this new day and we ask for wisdom and revelation as we read and share Your Word today in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's lead Word is from Genesis 3:1 (NKJV)
"Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?"
This chapter in the book of Genesis is where sin was introduced into the world.
The enemy who came in the form of a serpent introduced doubt into Eve's mind as to whether she ought to follow God's command to not eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. I believe it is safe to conclude that when God commands us to do something, it is neither a suggestion nor an option. Rather, it is something that we are obligated to do. God in His mercy would never require you to do something that He knows you do not have the ability to do. 2 Peter 1:2-4 is a reminder that God has given us all things in Christ that pertain to life and godliness which includes the grace to be obedient to God's instruction.
2 Peter 1:2-4 NKJV reads, "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
In the gospels of Matthew, Luke, Mark and John, it is evident that one of the things that frustrated Jesus was when the disciples doubted the miracles He performed which doubt manifested through their unbelief.
For example, on one of their voyages on water, the disciples happened to encounter a storm which caused Jesus to come to their rescue by walking on water (Matthew 14:24-25). One of them, Simon Peter, needed proof that it was really Jesus, so he asked, "Lord if it is You, command me to come to You on the water" (Matthew 14:28) to which Jesus responded, "Come" (Matthew 14:29). Simon proceeded to step out of the boat and walked on water to meet Jesus. Unfortunately, right before he got to Jesus, he started to look around at the sea waves and right before he sunk, Jesus came to his rescue and asked him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" (Matthew 14:31).
In this example, we see that Jesus sent out the word to Peter commanding him to "come" but when doubt was introduced into his mind, he cried out for Jesus' help right before sinking in the water (Matthew 14:30) and Jesus in His infinite mercy saved him instantly.
Unlike in the garden of Eden, when the enemy separated mankind from God's presence by introducing sin through Adam and Eve doubting God's command to not eat fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Today, Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection has introduced a new order that despite doubting His command, God still loves you and He will stop at nothing to pursue and choose you as His own.
Romans 10:13 NKJV says, "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved" because God cannot deny himself from loving you and rescuing you when you call to Him especially at your point of need!
TO BE CONTINUED...
I'll end with this Word in 2 Timothy 2:13 (NKJV):
"If we are faithless, He remains faithful;
He cannot deny Himself."
Amen. Thank you LORD.
On that note, if you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal and everlasting life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus - I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations! - By grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
