Genesis Ch. 1 - Part 6

The LORD of Hosts, Al Shaddai, the Ancient of days, the Almighty God, the Righteous Judge, we join our faith and say thank you for the new month of July. May Your presence continue to go before us in all things in the name of Jesus. May Your glory LORD fill every nation of this earth in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

We're still looking at Genesis chapter 1 and today's focus is from Genesis 1:21-22 (NKJV)

21.So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

22.And God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

If God instructed birds and sea creatures to be fruitful and multiply, then how much more you and I who have been created in God's image. When I was reading this text, it became clear that there is nothing that pleases the LORD like seeing His children walking and functioning in their identity by becoming fruitful in every good work of God's Kingdom and multiplying in every area of their life. Friend, increase is of God and He wants us to increase in all things, not just things but in everything!

Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:20 that "Therefore by their fruits you will know them." As a child of God, you and I are likened to a tree that is known either for the good fruit it produces or the bad fruit it produces.

Galatians 6:7-8 reminds us of the unchangeable principle of sowing and reaping and it reads, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life."

So in case you wondering, what may fruitfulness look like for a child of God?

The starting point for producing fruit as a child of God is to walk in obedience to God's command. If there's something God has instructed you to specifically do, start by obeying His Word. Obedience will always produce good fruit in the life of a believer.

At the same time, Jesus also cautions all children of God that unless they abide in Him and He in them, they will not be able to bear fruit (John 15:4). This confirms to our spirits that if truly, you plan to bear fruit and multiply in God's Kingdom, this has to be done according to God's pattern, following spiritual principles and not your own human efforts and understanding.

Bearing fruit may also be demonstrated by following the spiritual principles found in the Word of God.

Examples would include, praying with all supplications and giving thanks to God (1 Thessalonians 5:15-18); worshipping God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24); radiating God's light and sharing the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ with the world (Matthew 28:19-20); raising godly children and teaching them the ways of God (Deuteronomy 6:7); sharing in all good things with teachers of the Word of and strangers (3 John 5-8); tithing (Malachi 3:10); forgiving your enemies (Mark 11:26); walking in love with your neighbour and yourself (Mark 12:30-31); honoring and respecting the elders in church (1 Timothy 5:17); making intercession for your leaders and those in authority (1 Timothy 2:1-2); paying your taxes (Matthew 22:20-21); honoring all people from walks of life (James 2:3-6); healing the sick, cast out demons and cleansing lepers; visiting widows and orphans who are in trouble (James 1:27); visiting the sick and those in prison (Matthew 25:36); walking in love with one another (1 John 3:14-15); to speak well of people, be peaceable, gentle and humble to everyone (Titus 3:2); and most importantly put off the old sinful nature that grew corrupt according to deceitful lusts and put on the new man which is your born again nature created in God's image in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:21-24).

Ultimately, as children of God, it is important that we allow the Holy Spirit to develop our character because that enables us to produce lasting fruit for the glory of God's Kingdom. Amen!

I'll end with this Word in John 14:23 (NKJV):

"Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep my word; and My Father will love him and We will come to him and make Our home with him."

Amen. Thank you LORD for making Your home with us.

Invitation to salvation: On that note, if you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal and everlasting life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
