Abba Father, we thank you for this is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. We thank you for the Word that is life, light and our salvation. Holy Spirit, may You open up the eyes of our understanding and give us spiritual wisdom as we read and share the Word now in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you Father.

Today's Word is from Genesis 1:27-28 (NKJV)

27."So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

28.Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

29.And God said, "See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food."

AMEN. Thank you LORD.

Genesis chapters 1 and 2 reveals God's creative nature that He exercised as He created the world in seven (7) days. Today's lead Word reminds us that man and woman were both created in the image of God.

Can you imagine, that each and every person has the God nature in them. However, only when you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour will you activate your true identity that was created in God's image. In case, you are wondering, why do you have to accept Christ if you were originally created in God's image? - The answer is found in Genesis, chapter 3 where the enemy disguised as the serpent introduced sin into the world which meant that now man and woman were spiritually separated from their ability to function as image bearers of God the Father, God the Son and God, the Holy Spirit.

More details will be shared as we delve into Genesis, chapter 3.

From our text today, we can also see that when God created us in His image, He had a purpose in mind. This purpose was to be fruitful, to multiply and the fill the earth and have dominion (Genesis 1:28). This text reveals that God in His wisdom follows what may be termed as "spiritual laws and principles".

That is, the truth that we are created in God's image establishes our identity as sons and daughters of God.

Only when we are fully cognizant of our identity as sons and daughters of God in Christ, shall we be able to walk in the original purposes that God created for us. Ephesians 2:10 NKJV reads, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before hand that we should walk in them." This verse shows us how God prepared works for each and every person He created and that those works are fully realized and found in relationship with Christ Jesus.

In Jeremiah 1:5, the LORD said to Jeremiah, a young man He was commissioning to serve in the plans and purposes He prepared for him as a prophet. Herein, the LORD tells Jeremiah He knew him before he was formed in his mother's womb. The same goes for you today, God knew you were before you were formed in your mother's womb.

This place of the LORD intimately knowing you includes the plans and purpose that He originally created for you which purpose is found only in a relationship with His One and only Son, Jesus Christ. This is the reason we trust God's heart because He has good plans for all His people (Jeremiah 29:11) unlike the enemy, who has wicked plans for mankind which is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10).

In conclusion, your true identity and purpose is found in Christ alone and the best way to walk in your purpose is by receiving Jesus Christ as LORD and Saviour of your life. Only when we are born again shall we be able to function in the likeness of God where we bear His image.Thereby enabling us to fulfill the original plan that God had for all mankind at the beginning of creation which is to be fruitful, multiply and have dominion over over every living thing on earth (Genesis 1:28).

On that note, if you would like to know about God, the Father who from the beginning of creation has always loved you and desires to commune with you through a personal relationship with His only Son Christ by dwelling on the inside of you and to have eternal and everlasting life including all the blessings found in Christ Jesus - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations! - By grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

Prayer: Abba Father, thank you because we know that no one can come to You unless you draw their hearts to you so right now we thank you for every heart that You have drawn to you to receive salvation in the name of Jesus. We join our faith and ask that You keep them in your love. Also, for everyone reading this post, may You draw the hearts of Your sons and daughters to yield to the Holy Spirit. Bless them Father with a heart of flesh that is able to walk in obedience, in relationship and in fellowship with You in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father that as Your children know You and their identity in Christ Jesus, You will reveal the plans and purposes for their lives as Your workmanship in the name of Jesus. Thank you that You do not play hide and seek so Father reveal Your power to Your sons and daughters and as Jesus prayed, may You come and make Your home with them for the glory of Your Kingdom in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

I'll end with this Word in 2 Corinthians 5:16-19 (AMP)

16.So from now on we regard no one from a human point of view [according to worldly standards and values]. Though we have known Christ from a human point of view, now we no longer know Him in this way.

17.Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [re born and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

18.But all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ [making us acceptable to Him] and gave us the ministry of reconciliation [so that by our example we may bring others to Him],

19.that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting people's sins against them [but canceling them]. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation [that is, restoration to favor with God].

AMEN. Thank you LORD. Glory to God.
