Father, we thank you for Your tender mercies and compassion that are new everyday. Holy Spirit, may You guide us into all truth as we read and meditate on the Word in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Genesis 19 starts off with men sent by the LORD who came to visit Lot. Lot, just like Abraham showed honor and hospitality by inviting the men into his home and preparing a meal for them (Genesis 19:3 NKJV). However, the men of the city of Sodom had seen guests enter Lot's house. "And they came to Lot and said to him, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally." (Genesis 19:5 NKJV). Lot attempted to negotiate with them by asking them to take his daughters instead to which the men resisted to the point they wanted to break into his house (Genesis 18:8-9 NKJV). Now these men who had entered the house happened to be angels of the LORD. They rescued Lot and cast blindness on the men who had been trying to break into Lot's house (Genesis 19:11 NKJV). The men then proceeded to tell Lot, "...have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, your sons, daughters, and whomever you have in the city - take them out of this place! For we will destroy this place, because the outcry against them has grown great before the face of the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it." (Genesis 19:12-13 NKJV).

Fortunately, the LORD was faithful to His Word to Abraham as He promised to spare the city if He found ten righteous people. Genesis 19:29 NKJV reads, "And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when He overthrew the cities in which Lot had dwelt."

We also see Lot informing his sons-in-law of the LORD's destruction upon the land that was imminent. However, they never departed from Sodom because they thought it was a joke (Genesis 19:14 NKJV).

Eventually Lot, his wife and their two daughters with the outstretched arm of the LORD escaped the fire and brimstone that was raining down from heaven because of Sodom and Gomorrah's sin. At the same time, during the course of their journey, Lot's wife turned into a pillar of salt because she did not follow the instruction of the LORD which was to keep her journey and not look back (Genesis 19:26 NKJV).

Child of God, God is always doing a new thing and it is certainly not in your past. Every good thing that God has for you is happening now and in your future! Therefore, it is important to trust in the LORD with all of your heart and not leaning on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)

My prayer is may the LORD continue to order your steps today into the future that He has prepared for you as You continue to walk in obedience to Him and trusting that His plans for your life are good in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

As always, I encourage you to read the chapter for yourself!

I'll end with this Word found in Isaiah 43:18-19 (NKJV)

"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

AMEN. THANK YOU LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to experience the blessings of having a love covenant with God whose throne you can boldly access with Jesus Christ as Your great and compassionate High Priest - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
