Genesis Ch.22

Holy Spirit, You are welcome here and in our respective personal spaces as we read and share Your Word. May You bring us closer to the revelation of Jesus Christ as we study and meditate on the Word today in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

In today's Word the LORD God asks Abraham to submit his only son that He loved deeply on altar to Him. When you read this chapter and the previous chapter, it is clear that Abraham loved his son, Isaac deeply . For instance in Genesis 22:8 we see Abraham referring to Isaac as "my son". That is, "And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering." So the two of them went together."

At the same time, in the new covenant, we see God, the Father giving up His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ by laying him on the altar of the cross for the sins of the entire world. When God sent Jesus Christ into the world, He gave us His best. I want you to imagine the most amazing gift you have received from a friend or a loved one and just consider how Jesus beats that! - Amen.

This chapter also shows us how the LORD God will never ask you to lay anything down on the altar that is not of significance to you. Basically, if it does not mean anything to you, it will not mean anything to God as well. In Luke 9:23-27, Jesus told his disciples who wanted to follow him that there was a cost.

Thankfully, in all things God is always and will remain forever faithful as He will never ask you to put anything down on an altar of sacrifice that he will not rise up again just like God did with Jesus when He raised him from the dead.

I'll end with this Word found in Genesis 22:16-17 NKJV

16.and said: "by Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son-

17."blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

18.In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

AMEN. THANK YOU LORD.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to experience the blessings of having a love covenant with God whose willing and ready to be an ever present loving Father who will never leave you nor forsake you - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
