Genesis Ch.23

Praise be to God, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ who has given us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places because we are united with Christ Jesus. We worship You ancient of days and say may Your name forever be magnified over all the ends of the earth, You who created the whole heaven and earth for You are God alone and there is no other. AMEN.

Today's Word is from Genesis chapter 23 and in this chapter we see the death of Sarah, Abraham's wife. Genesis 23:1 tells us that Sarah died when she was one hundred and twenty seven years old. Abraham then approached the sons of Heth and requested for a burial place for his dead (Genesis 23:4). The sons of Heth agreed to Abraham's request and told him to choose the best burial place in the land. It is interesting to note that the sons of Heth referred to Abraham as "a mighty prince." (Genesis 23:6). Every son and daughter in Christ Jesus has Abraham as their father of faith as well for this is the fulfillment of the covenant promise that God gave him that in his seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed (Genesis 22:18) .

Just like Abraham was recognized as a mighty prince among the people that did not have a covenant with God. You, child of God are also recognized as royalty because your identity that is sealed through God, the Father found in the precious blood of His Son, Christ Jesus who is the King of Kings and LORD of LORDS. 1 Peter 2:9 reiterates this and says, "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." AMEN!

At the end of the chapter, Abraham paid the full price for the cave of Machpelah in the land of Canaan where he buried Sarah. Abraham also acquired the cave and all the land that surrounded the cave as his own property and burial place (Genesis 23:17-20).

I'll end with this Word found in;

Deuteronomy 7:6 NKJV

"For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth."

Deuteronomy 7:9 NKJV

"Therefore know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments;"

AMEN. Thank you LORD.

I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post.
