Genesis Ch.3: The curse is broken

Abba Father, we thank you for who You are and for who You have been to each one of us. What a privilege it is to have relationship with You and to the call the Creator of heaven and earth, Father. Thank you for the blessing of salvation found in Christ Jesus that has given us this privilege of knowing You as a loving Father. To no other person have You given this privilege except to those who know You through Your One and Only Son Jesus Christ - Hallelujah. Ebenezer, You have faithfully carried us through the year and here we are today glorifying Your Holy name, King of Kings, LORD of Lords, Righteous Judge and in agreement we say may Your name forever be magnified to all the ends of the earth in the name of Jesus. Today, may You open the eyes of Your sons and daughters understanding to know the hope and depth, breadth, height and length of love You have called them to found in Christ Jesus in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Today's lead verses are from Genesis 3:14-19 (NKJV) "14.So the LORD God said to the serpent: "Because you have done this, You are curses more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; on your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life.

15.And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel."

16.To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you."

17.Then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it':"Cursed is the ground for your sake, in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life.

18.Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field.

19.In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."

The above verses in Genesis show us that Eve was deceived by satan (1 Timothy 2:14) so the curse of disobedience of eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil fell upon her. Adam on the other hand was not deceived and as I shared last week, Adam knew too much to fall into the enemy's trap called deception. The reason the curse fell upon him as seen in Genesis 3:17 was because he listened to his wife.

As a result, the curse pronounced on Adam would not enable him to listen to his wife as he would be preoccupied with the demands of toiling from his sweat, in order to make a living (Genesis 3:17-19). On the other hand, the curses of the woman was she would desire her husband's attention and he would rule over her (Genesis 3:16).

Thankfully, the LORD God in the curses He pronounced upon satan, He said, his head would be bruised by the woman's Seed which Seed here is known as Jesus Christ who permanently crushed satan's head with His death on the cross, burial and resurrection from the dead. Colossians 1:13-14 NKJV portrays the power of Jesus' death on the cross, burial and resurrection and it reads, "He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins."

In addition, Galatians 3:13 re assures us, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree".

Jesus Christ has delivered and saved wives and husbands who call upon His name from the curses pronounced in Genesis 3-16-19. In the New Testament, we see several instances through the writing of Apostle Paul by the power of the Holy Spirit, instructing men to love their wives as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25-29) and to be patient with them so that their prayers would not be hindered (1 Peter 3:7). Wives on the other hand are called to respect and submit to their husbands (Ephesians 5:22-23).

Let's imagine a scenario where Adam's wife was submitted to God's calling and purpose for Adam's life. When the enemy would suggest she eats fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, would she give it to Adam? - Most likely not, as she would automatically defer to her husband's instruction in wisdom and prayer as it takes great discernment with the help of Holy Spirit to perceive the deception of the enemy and act accordingly.

In conclusion, the new covenant instruction for husbands to love their wives and for wives to respect and submit to their husbands is among the many spiritual blessings found in Christ Jesus that has taken away the curse pronounced by God in Genesis 3:16-19. Love and submission respectively for husbands and wives is adherence to spiritual order. We also see that these blessings operate best where there is spiritual order not because the man has a more superior brain than the woman or vice versa as the Spirit of God in a man is the same Spirit of God in a woman. However, God is a God of order and where there is order and peace, His blessings flow as a result of the unity (Psalm 133:1-3 and 1 Peter 3:8) which would especially enable married couples to fulfill the mandate that God has given them.

Consequently, this spiritual order aligns the husband and wife in their respective position which spiritual positioning enables them fulfill the plans and purposes that God has for their marriage.

May all these spiritual blessings of positioning for God's calling upon your life, alignment, wisdom, favor, spiritual discernment, obedience, peace, unity, love, joy, abundance and provision in every area of your life be your portion in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

I'll end with this Word in Galatians 4:4-7 (NKJV)

"4.But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,

5.to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

6.And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba Father!"

7.Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

Let's say this together: AMEN. Thank you Abba Father that salvation in Christ Jesus has qualified me to be an heir of God through Christ thereby partaking of all His blessings in the name of Jesus, Amen. GLORY TO GOD, HALLELUJAH - PRAISE GOD!

Invitation to salvation: As seen above, the curse can only be broken by the blood of Jesus Christ where sins are forgiven including the sin of disobedience. Those who call on the name of the LORD will be saved and abound in His blessings and if this is you - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus.
