Abba Father, thank you that is the day that You have made and we shall be glad and rejoice in it. We worship and praise You LORD for all that You are, for all that You have been and for all that You will be concerning us. Thank you that You are the same yesterday, today and forever and because You are faithful, we continually place our trust in You Abba. We join our faith and thank you that You are opening up the eyes of our understanding, redeeming and restoring our time as we read and share the Word today in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Today's sharing is from Genesis, chapter 6 and herein, we see God express His heart.

Genesis 6:6 reads, "And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart." I believe for God to express the grief and disappointment of His heart concerning the creation of man, reflects the magnitude and the deep level of evil that must have been happening on the earth at the time.

This is a stark contrast with Genesis chapter 1, when God saw everything He created, He saw that it was good. This was because man had become so wicked where every intention and thoughts of his heart were filled with evil continually (Genesis 6:5).

These verses are a reminder that God is the God of the heart. As human beings, we are only able to form an opinion or judgment based on the actions or outward appearances of circumstances and people. But God is not the same way as He always considers the intentions of one's heart.

Jeremiah 17:10 reads, "I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to His ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

This verse shows us that God is the just God, that despite His decision to destroy man and every thing He created at the time (Genesis 6:7), nevertheless, He considered the actions of a righteous man called Noah and decided to spare him and his family from His wrath. The beauty about God is He is the God of generations and multiplications.

When you serve and obey God, His goodness and mercy is not for yourself only, but it is also passed down to thousands of generations. Exodus 20:6 reiterates this when God was giving the ten commandments to His people, He said, "but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments."

In conclusion, God is the God of the heart and your heart posture towards everything you do is as important as your actions towards Him and others as well as your personal devotion with Him. At times, one may not be aware of the impact of their decisions or actions towards others but thankfully, we have the Word of God.

I have found that one of the surest ways to know the intents of one's heart is by diligently giving yourself to the reading and studying of God's Word with the help of the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 4:12 reminds us, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of the soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

As a result, your love for God, His people and obedience to God's instructions and law should always start from the heart and eventually reflect in your actions. AMEN.

I'll end with this Word found in Matthew 15:8-9 (NKJV)

8."These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me."

9.And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men."

Prayer: Father, we thank you for today's Word. Thank you Father that this Word is falling on the good ground of our hearts and yielding a bountiful harvest for the glory of Your Kingdom. Thank you for comforting us that indeed and truly we are created in Your image and You have given us the ability to seek and feel after your heart LORD God.

We come in agreement and ask that You remove every idol known and unknown from the hearts of your sons and daughters that would hinder them from getting to know Your heart on a deeper level in the name of Jesus. We ask that may we always draw near to You LORD not by power, not by might but by the Spirit of the LORD. We also ask that may every honor and reverence not only be with our lips or actions but rather flow from our hearts to Your heart Abba. As a body of Christ, may we always be vessels of Your love Abba and may the intentions and thoughts of our hearts always be pleasing to You in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.

Invitation to salvation: Those who call on the name of the LORD will be saved and will be attuned to God's heart of love for them and vice versa. If this is you - I invite you to make this confession:

"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
