Father God, we thank you for this Word and as always, may You open the eyes of our understanding and give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You, King of glory as we read and share the Word in the name of Jesus, Amen.
Today's lead Scripture is from Genesis 6:8-9 (NKJV)
"8.But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
9.This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God."
Today's post is a continuation from last week. Last week, we saw that God is the God of the heart and will always examine one's heart posture and reward them accordingly. Genesis 8:9 is very interesting as it refers to Noah's faithfulness and his personal relationship with God as part of his genealogy as opposed to firstly giving reference to his previous bloodline. Friend, God cares when you put him first in all things. Noah's genealogy starting off with his faithfulness was clearly the most important thing before God's eyes concerning his existence.
Jesus Christ in Matthew 6:33 implores us to first seek the Kingdom of God and it's righteousness and all these things will be added to you. Based on Noah's story, we can see that God is a just God and will ensure protection for those whose hearts are focussed and attuned to His presence. As seen in Jeremiah 29:13, the LORD God re affirms "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
In addition, Genesis 6:8 is the first time grace is mentioned in the Old Testament. Noah not only walked with God, but He also found grace in His sight as seen in the above lead verses. Grace will always give us access to things that we may not necessarily deserve especially based on our actions.
In the New Testament, Jesus gave a parable of the two sons. The father of these two sons asked his first son to go and work in the vineyard on that particular day. The son answered no, but later on he changed his mind and decided to get to work (Matthew 21:28-29). The father asked the second son, to go to work and he agreed to work but later on, he changed his mind and didn't go. (Matthew 21:30).
Jesus then asks the people, which of the sons obeyed the father? The crowds responded the first son to which Jesus responded, "I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do." (Matthew 22:31 NLT).
This parable is firstly an illustration between your personal relationship with God. It's interesting because you would imagine the first son who did not listen to the father but at least eventually got the work done was obedient but in God's eyes, He was the disobedient son.
Jesus Christ in John 12:46-47 NLT provides a clearer understanding of this parable and it reads, "I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. I will not judge those who hear me but don't obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it."
The second son received grace before his father's eyes (in this case, the father represents God) because it was not his good actions that justified him before his father but rather it was a willing and believing heart to be obedient to receive his father's instruction.
If I had to put God's grace in two words it would be 'unconditional love'.
Today, this grace is still provided by God through His one and only Son Jesus Christ.
Those who call on the name of the LORD will be saved and will be attuned to God's heart of love for them and vice versa. If this is you - I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

I'll end with this Word found in John 14:6 (NKJV)
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me,"
AMEN. THANK YOU LORD.
