Father, we thank you for the Word. We thank you for You. We thank you for Your love. We thank you for Your faithfulness and Your presence that is here now and in our respective personal spaces. Thank you that You are good and Your mercy endures forever in the name of Jesus. Thank you that You are reliable. Thank you that You remain the same. Thank you that You are not a man that You lie nor a son of man that You should change Your mind. Thank you LORD God for remaining consistent in all things despite circumstances around us that may be subject to change. As we read Your Word today, may our hearts draw closer to Your heart and may we be doers of Your Word, in the name of Jesus, Amen. Thank you LORD.
Today's post is sharing from both Genesis chapters 6 and 7. In my previous post, we saw God's mercy and faithfulness prevail over Noah and his family as God's blessings pass onto the generations of His righteous ones. As previosuly shared, we saw that God is the God of the heart and will by no means abandon His children. In Genesis 6:14-16, we see God give Noah specific instructions on building the ark (Genesis 6:15-16). This ark would eventually house Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives and a pair of every living thing of all flesh, that is birds, creeping things, animals (Genesis 6:19-20) to preserve them. God also instructed Noah to take food for both his family and the animals and Noah did exactly as the LORD said unto him (Genesis 7:15). Can you imagine the faith it must have taken Noah to build an ark especially in that generation that was corrupt before God's eyes. They probably questioned his sanity as well but this did not deter Noah from obeying God as Genesis 6:22 tells us that Noah did everything that God commanded him to do.
These chapters also show us that God made a covenant with Noah and in Genesis 7:1, "Then the LORD said to Noah, "Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation." When Noah, his family and all the living creatures entered the ark, the LORD personally shut the door of the ark (Genesis 7:16). Genesis 7:17 tells us that the flood was on the earth for forty days (Genesis 7:17) "and the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered." (Genesis 7:19).
I'll end with this Word found in Genesis 7:23 (NKJV)
"So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive."
Friend, as much as God is the God of love, He is also the God of justice to whom all flesh will give an account to one day concerning their actions here on earth. I believe if they were other people besides Noah who turned their hearts towards God, God's mercy and grace would have prevailed over them as well. 2 Timothy 2:13 reminds us, that even we are faithless, God remains faithful because He cannot deny himself! Amen - thank you Father that faithfulness is a part of your nature and character. Amen.
Clearly, there was none righteous besides Noah in that generation for God's justice, His grace and faithfulness would have spared their souls from perishing in the flood waters.
Today, God's grace is still available and welcomes all who desire to know His heart through His one and only Son Jesus Christ.
The Bible says, those who call on the name of the LORD will be saved and will be attuned to God's heart of love for them and you will in turn receive His love and salvation for you. If this is you - I invite you to make this confession:
"I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose relationship with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and with God as my loving Father today and forever." AMEN.
Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17) where you get to freely access everything I've shared in this post. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
