Give thanks
Today's lead Scripture is from Deuteronomy 1:31 NKJV
31" and in the wilderness where you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, in all the way that you went until you came to this place."
Amen Amen.
This passage is part of Moses speech to the Israelites where he reminded them of the goodness of God who had saved them from oppression, bondage and slavery in Egypt. Often times, especially when we are faced with that situation or believing or waiting on a promise, it is easy to forget the faithfulness of God. His faithfulness that carried you through that past difficult time, how God gave you joy after grieving a loved one, how He restored your youth, how He gave you that job that you were always praying for, how He healed you from that sickness or heart break. The faithfulness of God, that carried you all the way until you got to this place - where you are today in the now and alive.
Maybe you don't exactly have a track record of God's faithfulness but are believing Him for a situation in your life. Friend, the Bible is filled with the LORD God's track records as His love and mercy for each of us endures forever. For example, after the LORD had rescued the Israelites from bondage, He parted the Red Sea so that their enemies would not triumph over them (Exodus 14), the LORD God directed their journey in the wilderness by giving them a cloud by day and a fire by night to show them the way in which they should go (Deuteronomy 1:33). God also sent them food from heaven every day which would drop on the ground every morning before they woke up. One day they complained about their diet and wanted to eat meat and God sent it to them as well (Exodus 16). They wore the same clothes for over forty years that never got worn out with shoes that never got torn (Deuteronomy 29:5). I don't know about you, but personally, God's love for me humbles and leaves me in awe every time!
Thanks be to God who is forever in the miracle working business especially now with the salvation that He has freely given to us through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ who died for us so that we could become new creations with everlasting life and with access to every spiritual blessing in heaven (Ephesians 1:3) as God's sons and daughters. Romans 8:17 spells out our inheritance that as God's children, we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ Jesus.
In case you're still contemplating what to be thankful for, may you join me as we give thanks to the Almighty God for His love for you and I through His Son Jesus Christ that has carried us to this place where we are now.
I'll end with this Scripture in Romans 8:37-39 NIV
37.No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38.For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39.neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thank you Abba Father. We give You all the glory and praise. Amen.
