God The Word
The lead Scripture for today is found in John 1:1 -3 NKJV
1.In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2.He was in the beginning with God.
3. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
I believe John 1:1 is one of the most powerful Scriptures in the Bible. It focuses our attention that Christ Jesus is the Word and He has always been in existence from before the creation of the world as seen above.
I also love John 1:1 because it reflects the power of God contained in our Bible. The Bible contains the Word of God. The Word is Christ and Christ is God. In Hebrews 1:9 God says to the Son "...Therefore God, Your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness more than Your companions." This shows us that God found Jesus worthy of sharing all of His glory with Him as His Son since the beginning of time.
As believers, when we choose to open our Bibles and spend time in the Word as a lifestyle, not only are our minds being renewed (Romans 12:2), we are also in relationship with God. Cambridge English dictionary defines relationship "as the way in which two or more people feel and behave towards each other." I'm focusing on the definition of relationship concerning friendship because we were created to be in relationship with God. In addition, spending time with God the Word eliminates any doubt that He is abstract and that we are unable to be in relationship with Him. We all have a part of Him on the inside of us as we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26) and the Kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). Besides, God was also a person and John 1:14 AMP illustrates this best;
And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).
The result of building a relationship with God the Word is to journey to a destination of knowing that you are loved by the Heavenly Father and receiving His love for your life which in turn provides complete freedom and deliverance from every bondage that separates you from God's love.
God also uses the Word to strip away whatever is not of Him in our lives as His Word is a representation of His power. Hebrews 4:12 KJV articulates this accurately by revealing to us the nature of the Word that is, "For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
I am convinced that spending time with God the Word is the ultimate fulfillment and revelation of the truth in the life of every believer that "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed" (John 8:36 NKJV).
Invitation to salvation: Finally, in case you have not already, I invite you to believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins. I repent of my sin. I choose Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever.
Congratulations, by grace you have been saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life. To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.
As a new believer, I urge you to prayerfully consider becoming a member of a church and buying a Bible or downloading the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one!
