Heaven - The believer's home

Colossians 3:1 reads,

"Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand."

Amen.

I believe one of the reasons if not the main reason, this verse encourages believers to focus on the things above because heaven is the believer's residence. Ephesians 2:6 says that we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places. Every believer has dominion on earth through the resurrection power of Christ Jesus that is sitting and living on the inside of them. Thank you Jesus!

It's like growing up in a home, the values and traditions you learn from your home that were instilled to you from your parents, grandparents, aunts, etc are ones you will mostly likely practice in your home. Take for instance, if the home you grew up in, you were taught to respect your elders, that is a value that you will always carry with you. However, for a believer, heaven is our location which is also a permanent address unlike the home you may have been raised at.

At this permanent address called heaven, we have power at home in Christ which gives us dominion on earth. There is no need to have dominion in heaven. In heaven, if you said you are a priesthood and king, no one would stop to give you any special attention or greeting because as believers we are all kings, queens, and royal priests over there. Hallelujah! But as believers, we are physically on earth and that's why we have the Word that helps us renew our minds to our identity as new creations whenever we read it. Today's lead Scripture tells us to fix our eyes on the things above, not to get the things above, but to remind yourself of the possessions and promises that you already own in your home where Christ is at- which is on the inside of you. Colossians 1:27 reads, "To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Praise God for this permanent home called heaven. Thank you Abba Father.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know this God who from the beginning of creation has always wanted you to be reunited and restored in relationship with Him through His One and Only Son Jesus Christ - whose faithful promises are yes and amen, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I repent of my past sins and enter the Kingdom of light where I choose Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith or if you don't have one, become a part of a church. I also encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! If you have taken the confession of faith and would also like a physical copy of the Bible, please send us an email at info@bibleversionoflife.com with your address. We would love to hear your story. GOD BLESS.
