Saved by grace

Today's lead Word is from Titus 2:11-12 which says;

11.For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

12. teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,"

AMEN.

May the Holy Spirit give us understanding as we read and share today's Word. I encourage you to think of the first thought that comes to your mind when you mediate on the words "saved by grace." When I meditate on these words, I think of the power and love of the Father through His Son Jesus Christ who died so that I live an abundant life filled with God's faithful promises. When I meditate on saved by grace, I consider and thank God for His healing and the various things His protection has shielded me as the Psalmist says "if it had not been the LORD on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive..."(Psalm 124:2-3).

Today's lead Word is for all children of God who have been saved by God's grace which salvation is not only seen in the confession of faith and water baptism but also evident in their good works for God's children are the light of the world. Consequently, Titus 3:8 continues to encourage us "...that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works." When we are saved by grace, the Holy Spirit gives us the ability to put away the things of the old man and empowers us by grace to live our lives by the Spirit. In Galatians 5:22, the Bible speaks of the fruits of the Spirit and fruit may be read to mean the actions that are born out of a life of constant communion with Christ Jesus as God's children. These fruits are love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22). Galatians 5:24 continues to remind us "and those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."

In case you may be wondering, what acts of the flesh the Bible is referring to here. Apostle Paul speaks of these in Galatians 19-21 that says "now the works of the flesh are evident, which are adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you before hand, just as I also told you in the past that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God."

Prayer: Father, we thank you for the grace that you have given us through Your Son Jesus Christ that empowers us to live soberly, righteously, and godly each day of our lives in this present age. We ask that Your grace abundantly pours out over every area of weakness that desperately needs your love and light for it is not by our power, our might and strength but by the Spirit of the LORD. We rest in Your love for us in Christ that covers a multitude of sins. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Thank you LORD.

I'll end with this Word of encouragement in Titus 3:3-7 NKJV

"3.For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

4.But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,

5.not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

6.whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

7.that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." AMEN.

Invitation to salvation: If you would like to know more about this God who supplies you with the grace to conquer every fleshly desire by empowering you to live a life in the Spirit, I invite you to make this confession, "I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that; Jesus Christ, the Son of God came in a human body to die for my sins so that I could have a new life where I am dead to sin and alive to God. I choose Him as my Lord and Saviour today and forever."

Congratulations, by grace you are saved and are now a new creation in Christ Jesus. The old life has passed away and you have received the free gift of salvation into your life (2 Corinthians 5:17). To the glory of the Almighty God. Amen.

As a new believer, I urge you to let your Pastor know that you took the confession of faith or if you don't have one, become a part of a church. I also encourage you to get water baptised as soon as possible and get yourself a physical copy of the Bible or download the Bible app on your mobile in case you don't already own one! If you have taken the confession of faith and would like a physical copy of the Bible, please send us an email at info@bibleversionoflife.com with your address. We would love to hear your story. GOD BLESS.
