The power of prayer - part 3
Heavenly Father we thank you for this new day. We are grateful for the gift of life. We ask for revelation and understanding as we read Your Word In Jesus Name.
Today's lead Scripture is from Psalms 116:1-2
"1.I love the LORD because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.
2.Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath."
A big part of prayer is going in the presence of our Father knowing and trusting that He hears us when we pray. I believe there is a boldness that comes with knowing that God is on your side and hears you when you pray. In Matthew 6:6 Jesus says to us "when you pray go into the room and shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in the secret will reward you openly." The Word tells us that every prayer has a reward. Time spent with God in prayer is time well spent. Every time spent with God has the power to heal, redeem, restore and save your life.
In Isaiah 45:19, the Word speaks "I publicly proclaim bold promises. I do not whisper obscurities in some dark corner. I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found. I, the LORD, speak only what is true and and declare only what is right."
Friend, God is on your side and as I usually say He is not playing hide and seek. He is on your side for you more than you will ever be for yourself. Persist in the place of prayer and reject every negative thought that condemns you from receiving God's love or seeking His presence. Seek God wholeheartedly because he is waiting on You to let him into every area of your life. Imagine the Creator of heaven and earth bends down to listen to our prayer. He could be doing so many other things but no, He is listening to the prayers of His children not only because we matter but also He cannot deny Himself - God is love.
1 John 4:8 tells us, "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." And God's love for us will never fail (1 Corinthians 13:8).
As you encouraged to seek God with the boldness and the assurance that He hears you when you pray, I'll end with this Scripture in 1 John 5:14-15
"14.Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."
AMEN.
